So recently while i’m waiting for a… Thing to be done… I came up with an idea called Coin Runners! May sound like the Mario Kart minigame, but let me explain.
What this game is:
20 players in a randomly selected map.
Coins randomly spawn places
People with the fewest coins slowly start getting booted from the match. For intensity!
Item boxes scattered to give you one-use weapons to make people drop their coins. If someone drops a coin, its fair game if anyone picks it up!
Half-decent textures.
The coins are currency! If you win a round, you keep your coins in a currency counter. Collect enough and you can get a starting boost! (Coins in the currency counter won’t count as coins in matches)
The coins can also be used to get skins for the weapons in item boxes.
So what do you guys think of this concept? Would you play it or not?
Maybe you could switch coins for objects like a scavenger hunt, and people who don’t get the first object in the first period of time get put back in the spectator zone. Second object and third object will be the same as well. But I like your idea.
I’m actually very fond of this idea. My only advice to you is to be very cautious on how you’re handling the coin transfers to the Client. The reason I say this is because it sounds like a great playground for exploiters to easily tinker with the Scripts and what not.
I’d worry about this part, if you do it correctly, everybody has a fun time , if not, the player who wins keeps winning because they have an advantage over all the other players. Of course, try not to punish the winning player as well. That part might be a tad hard to balance to make sure everybody has a good time but the game concept sounds pretty nice
If there are coins in the cureency bar, they wont add to the coin counter in any future match unless you buy the start with 3 coins from boost shop. Another planned feature.
