"www.robloxdev.com" server is offline, despite "robloxdev.com" still being functional

Repro steps:

Expected behavior:
Both URLs work

Actual behavior:
The first URL that uses the www server fails with the generic “Incorrect URL” error page appearing:

However, the URL that is just robloxdev.com directly with nothing in front works. An easier comparison would be www.robloxdev.com and robloxdev.com. robloxdev.com works, but www.robloxdev.com doesn’t.

This is noticeable in older posts when robloxdev.com used to be the Developer Hub, instead of create.roblox.com or developer.roblox.com (Developer Hub site prior to the Creator Hub), but I found a newer example:

The hyperlinked HttpService refers to the www.robloxdev.com domain, and while I am unsure how they got the link for it in the first place, I am sure that people would be very confused by the 404 page.

Page URL: https://www.robloxdev.com/api-reference/class/HttpService

Seems like they forgot to add a CNAME DNS record

Maybe if Tim didn’t screw up the DNS records while he was working at CERN we wouldn’t have this problem, but oh well.

According to Paolo Palazzi, who worked at CERN along with Tim Berners-Lee, the popular use of www as subdomain was accidental; the World Wide Web project page was intended to be published at www.cern.ch while info.cern.ch was intended to be the CERN home page; however the DNS records were never switched, and the practice of prepending www to an institution’s website domain name was subsequently copied.

We’ve decided not to fix this issue completely; I know that might be disappointing/inconvenient, but this accompanies a decision to deprecate the old domains. However, we agree that the 404 is confusing, so we’ve decided to move both subdomains to the same behavior (to prevent future 404s on either) and direct all paths to create.roblox.com.

This will break some links using the old domains, but it will also ensure that no matter the path, they don’t 404 and go to the homepage. I know in some ways this is making one thing better to make another thing worse, but the doc-site is restructured from time to time, and maintenance on the old domain takes time we could spend on better docs.
