Hi! I’m sepro1144, a developer/project manager and the CEO of UNexus Studios, an upcoming game studio. I’ve been trying out and playing with blender image rendering all day today, and I came up with this GFX of two avatars fighting a zombie -
Thanks! I appreciate the feedback! In the future, I’ll definitely be trying out different backgrounds playing with lighting, etc. yes, I do use rigs in blender to pose characters
Maybe have a 3D background which the rigs can sort-of, interact with? Personally, I’m not a fan of the 2D background but hey; you do what you want. I also wanted to mention that the Zombies clothing is a bit off :
Make the background and foreground blend more - make it so the characters look like they’re actually standing on the grass.
Add some more effects/lighting - Having been doing GFX for nearly 2 years, I cannot stress how important effects and lighting are. (effects meaning like fog, sun glares, etc.) You can use a sun lighting effect to make it all blend more with the background.
Unblur the background (referring to first point)
Your zombie texture… I’m not sure what’s going on there…
Use Cycles render (See tutorial)
Work on improving poses - as in, don’t be afraid to add some rotation to the head and torso to make it feel more natural - Realistically, your head is never 100% straight, especially when fighting like that haha.
Add some lighting to that lightning bolt effect on the zombie’s shoulders and player’s hands. I imagine it amitting a slight blue glow.
Add an outline or drop shadow to the text to make it stand out more (and personally, I’d choose a different font, but it may be the theme you’re going for)
My #1 go-to free editor is GIMP - My #1 paid editor is Affinity Photo - it’s better than Photoshop (in my opinion of course) and it’s only a $50 one time payment - WAY worth it if you’re considering taking this GFX thing further!
I know some of these may seem hard, but it all comes with practice!
