I cannot link my new YouTube handle (https://www.youtube.com/handle) as it will not let me. (see attached image)
Try it with the real user URL, and not the @ URL (The @ Url simply redirects to your actual URL).
I have, and the lengthy real URL still functions, but now, if a user has set up a handle for their channel, clicking on their profile picture automatically directs you to their youtube.com/@handle rather than the lengthy user URL. Although it displays the same page, I believe it would be beneficial for Roblox to allow URLs like youtube.com/@handle since that is now the YouTube default and newer users may not know how to get their real user URL.
The difference is, you can change your @handle, but not the real URL that is with you forever, so you don’t need to update it everytime.
You have a point when you say that it is permanent, but newer Roblox and YouTube users might not be aware of how to obtain their permanent URLs and may only be aware of the existence of their handle URLs, hence my original reply. I believe Roblox ought to support both formats.
Okay, I want you to go to YT Studio. Your account has 2 urls, the @SpencerLedger, and one more that is a random string of text.
This is mine, you should find it in the customization tab, try using that url instead.
I appreciate the assistance, but @hatespine and I already discussed this in the earlier replies. I understand this long string of text still works for linking channels, but now that YouTube uses the @handle by default, I believe Roblox should support both URLs because less experienced YouTube users might not know how to obtain their full URL.
I made a report for this last month and it’s been filed apparently
