After that chaotic mess from last year and the year before that, I for sure thought that you guys would try going back to your roots. Hopping in games and leaving it up to the developers to make the missions… I don’t know, it doesn’t seem very official. (EH2017 is the only possible exception considering how different it was.)
Even if my first point above is debatable, last year felt very pay-to-win. Example, only a certain egg would appear on a certain map and developers would tweak the script to make it so the map rarely gets chosen unless purchased with Robux.
Another example, developers making gamepasses off of this:
These monetization practices not only ruin the experience of the egg hunt, but they also ruin the concept as well. These promotions don’t make the hunt feel like a hunt at all.
Say what you will about this egg hunt, but I’m very disappointed with the direction egg hunts have been going.
Sadly experience of this dev hunts proofed that most games became forgotten as soon as egg hunt ends, so roblox’s help doesn’t help at all and they should start making egg hunts like in 2018
It is rather disappointing to see the direction of Egg Hunts is going. It’s almost like the balance of the game just doesn’t exist anymore. Why spend time grinding for the egg when you can just pay your way to the top or just get it for free by switching devices?
I’m excited about this! I’m making a short game just for this! It will be called EggLand, but that’s all I’ll tell you . Hopefully, it’ll get accepted! If not, I’ll still be happy to see all of your games!
I thought that after all this criticism of all the recent Egg Hunts which followed this formula that something will change. Apparently not. Roblox, as stubborn as is with accepting their failures.
I am honestly not surprised nor excited for this. I know Roblox is doing this for the developers, but these randomized egg hunts are nothing like they were. Since 2019, the egg hunts have just been a scrambled mess of random games, some good and some not so good. I really enjoyed the story and quality that was seen in earlier egg hunts (for example my favorite one, 2018). Now it seems like it’s just about cramming as many games into this egg hunt as possible and calling that good… I completely agree with @Zqtion
This shows that egg hunts are going to be ruined for everyone except the few that have a released game and get accepted into the hunt.
When in your game in Roblox Studio, navigate to Game Settings > Avatar > Avatar Type. If you have “Player Choice” or “R15” selected, you support Rthro Characters. If you have “R6” selected, you do not.
I’m curious about mine, Cause I’m using custom character models but I also support all platforms so that might help. But I currently don’t support any other language but english. Although I can support it by the time the egg hunt comes around.
Excellent opportunity to help grow and gain exposure for your game! Even if your game is not popular, I’d still recommend you apply. You never know who’ll get chosen.
I Disagree, this isn’t an “excellent” opportunity to help grow and gain exposure.
Most of the games that get chosen it’s because the Developers are Famous, look at the games from Egg Hunt 2015 , 2019 , 2020.
In 2019 there was a really good game in the Egg Hunt , but it died so quick, because? because the Game was selected for the Egg Hunt, instead of continuing being famous, it was only played for the egg, after the Egg Hunt ended, the game was dead.
I Remember joining that game ( because i actually liked that game ) and i was alone in that game.
only 1 server with only me in it.
And it’s not just 1 game that i really liked that died after the Egg Hunt, Drone Heist had a really good idea for a game, the game was good ( but hard )
it died so fast after the Egg Hunt Ended
Edit: I found the name of the “GTA 5” Styled game, it’s called “Grudge”
Personally I think it would be better if a team of 20 devs were selected from talented creators and had them create one giant awesome egg hunt from scratch that show off each devs individual style of development, instead of having so many devs focus on their own already completed game. Devs should work together and learn from each other.
I believe it is the ID associated with your Roblox profile. Example: My profile is Oova - Roblox, and my ID would be the line of numbers in it. So my ID would be 1412042797. Hope that helps!
