Oh boy.
I have never participated in any egg hunt. I’ve never even heard about the egg hunt until now. And that’s saying something because I was in Roblox from 2017.
As I scroll through this pile of comments, I hear how this hunt is very frowned upon and disliked, giving me an interest in this egg hunt.
From what I hear from this info page, I think it’s cool, seeing games unite together and have a similar objective in multiple games. But everyone is bringing up really good points. What if people don’t like the game? What if there are people arguing over what they want to do?
So I am extremely conflicted on this egg hunt. I guess it does give smaller developers a chance to show their game and increase their player count, but maybe they should start hearing the players’ opinions. I actually like the idea of having only one game to handle the hunt, it would be so much easier.

Trust me when i say this: “dev hunts” are nothing like actual “egg hunts”. 2017 and 2018 were by far the best ever egg hunts on roblox. There were CUSTOM maps built with all having a different theme. There was a main hub in which you could also find eggs in and look at your progress of finding eggs. There were fun custom game mechanics and quests you had to do.
2019 still had a hub, but that’s it.
Dev hunts from 2020 and 2021 will have nothing like that. There will be boring quests you gotta do to obtain eggs. There won’t be a hub, no custom maps, no nothing.

A little sad that it will no longer be the same as 2017, but still very happy that you are keeping the traditions and also giving opportunities for developers.
I hope it will be bigger and much more challenging and fun than the previous one, good luck to all the participants.

i really think it’s disappointing that next year’s egg hunt will be another Dev Hunt.
Why? Because most of the games don’t even follow the Theme of the Egg Hunt, some games will only be played in the egg hunt, after that, they get forgotten.
Why DevHunts are Bad (My Opinion):
- In 2020 , Only 1 game followed the Theme ( Agents of Egg )
- The Mechanics aren’t the same in every game (Because they’re different games)
- Most games are really Ugly and aren’t even compatible with Mobile / XBox or Tablet
- There isn’t an Actual Story, it’s just getting Eggs in random games.
- Every Dev Hunt is Hated, the 2015 Egg Hunt which was the first one to do it became the most hated Egg Hunt in History
- Most of the game chosen are made by Famous people, which means: Small Developers have almost 0 chance to be in the Dev Hunts.
- Some chosen games are Cash-Grabs.
- No Lobby/Hub
Why EggHunts are way Better : ( My Opinion )
- Everyone’s Favorite Egg Hunts are 2013 , 2017 , 2018 ( My Favorite is 2018 )
- (Most) Egg Hunts have an incredible team making beautiful maps and amazing Stories
- The Missions to get certain eggs are really fun to do.
- There’s the same mechanic to get every single egg.
- The game will obviously follow the Theme and make it 10 times better.
- It gives a feeling of Happiness when i play these games, it’s a Spirit of “Egg Hunter” , I really don’t know how to explain it ( maybe what people call Hype ? )
- Things are Original. ( different of DevHunts, they make Trendy Games , get a lot of money and then get accepted in the Dev Hunt. )
- Most Egg Hunts have an incredible Lobby
So, in my opinion ( and in other people’s opinion ) Roblox should never ever make a Dev Hunt Ever again. And no, it’s not an opportunity to be known in the Community.
I Know Roblox wants to interact with their community, but that’s not right if people don’t like it.
Basically: The Feedback in every single DevHunt isn’t really good ( 2015 , 2019 , 2020 )
Roblox earned $435.000.000 just in 2019! They can easily hire a Team, the one i really recommend is Fifteam, Fifteam created Egg Hunt 2018, and by far Egg Hunt 2018 is the Best, Members of Fifteam did also work in other Events with incredible Maps, like Rolantis and Hallow’s Eve 2018. Roblox can easily hire another Dev Team, i really hope they change and finally allow Fifteam to make Egg Hunt 2022, i’m truly disappointed at Roblox.
DevHunts should have never been added to Roblox, Roblox saw that people hated Egg Hunt 2015 so they came back and made Egg Hunt 2016 (good)…2017 (good) and 2018 (incredible!), But now they want to “”“”““Save Resources””“”“” and they came back with the DevHunts, Everyone hated EggHunt 2019, 2020 was hated even more and you guys say
This notorious, seasonal event has been “cherished” by our community
while people wanted Egg Hunts back they say
this year will be no different!
Truly disappointing , Roblox most of the time does not hear the players.
They can make hole new games for celebrities but not for the biggest Roblox event ever.
The eggs aren’t challenging, they feel like chores, they aren’t fun and magical to get, they’re like big advertisements as KreekCraft said. All games have different mechanics, you need to learn the annoying mechanics of every single game, some games are cool and some others are stupid (Fairy World type games) and some devs go way too far, they make Gamepasses, Ways to addict the player and even scam.
Most simulators try to scam you, while you’re spam-clicking on a button to skip things, they will put a gamepass button, just like they did in 2020 or they will try to make it really slow to complete the quest and others will make gamepasses to get the egg.
April 2nd Edit: Apparently Egg Hunt 2021 was cancelled forever…

That’s fully understandable. If the game I’m currently working on gets accepted I will for sure have a full custom map as the game is already on its way to support realms.
From a user that has been on the platform since 2012 I personally didn’t start participating in the egg hunts till 2015
I enjoyed every bit of it going from 2015 to 2016 and 2017 were all great years.
The last egg hunt they did last year I personally didn’t like I mostly Just went for the developer egg and maybe a few others but that’s about it.
Some of the games last year just were not good at all. Such as the one Phone clicking simulator or whatever its called that you had to go from computer to computer Just got really boring. Players want a nice open world adventure or an exciting new world to explore. When developing a Egg hunt map you want the users to have a safe but fun experience.
Developing new worlds like they haven’t seen before not only for new users but the old ones as well.
If my game does get accepted I will for sure have a blast developing the map for it. Hopefully they allow us to make our own eggs as well cause I have some fun designs stashed away in my head.

I know events like these are good opportunities to give exposure to smaller developers within the Roblox Community. But… have you seen the fiasco of the 2019 and 2020 Egg Hunt?

They a doing it a third time? Third times the charm I guess. However, if the game count increases again, players may not be too happy about that and I certainly won’t, but that is something I forgot to develop further in my post oops.
Last year had a lot of problems, such as [A Game] literally being imposible since it won’t register my keyboard inputs the second I started to do the task. Checked the Discord server and someone has reported this before, but were ignored BY THE DEVELOPERS THEMSELVES (Idk it’s been a while so i don’t the remember the exact details. Could of just been a highly respected member). Had to get the egg on mobile.
Can all of the games be tested before release this time?
Also unrelated note but by User ID, are putting in the onwer’s id or the id of the user taking the survey?

Honestly, simulator seem like a bad choice to be featured in Egg Hunts or any event. It’s always just grinding and doing tasks to get the prize.

I fully agree with that, Simulators aren’t the best for egg hunts since most of them were primarily made for cash grab to begin with, they end up using models they had in the past instead of making something new and exciting.

Yeah. Like egg hunts are suppose to fun and exciting. But running around for 10 minutes straight or just clicking your screen is just boring. There’s no fun in just doing the same thing for the next few minutes.

Man just walk around locations in egg hunt 2018 they are better than most games on front page and keep in mind that this game was meant to exist for 1 month but continue to live in players’ hearts
