“Egg Hunt” 2021 Metaverse Event Opportunity!

Please, please, please don’t choose 50 random games for the egg hunt. Last egg hunt was really chaotic, no order, the egg phone also was really bad, half the time the screen glitched out, so I wasn’t able to see the eggs I collected. There wasn’t even a hub, some games didn’t even have support for all platforms and just give the reward like that.

There wasn’t even a category dedicated to Egg Hunt. So I had to go and find a needle in a haystack i.e. had to use the search bar, which isn’t accurate by the way, because when I tried searching for that game, it comes as ‘No Results.’

If you’re planning to make a egg hunt this year, make sure you have a story line. It is boring to go to 50+ games to collect eggs, which have no relation to each other.

And please reduce the 50 games to 30 or 20 games. No make that 15 games.

Didn’t the group Fifteen say they were working on a big project like egg hunt 2021 a long time ago?

Applying again becasue egg hunt looks like a big opportunity for our game, that we’ve been developing since 2018 and look forward to continue it.

Thank you Roblox for giving us developers a big opportunity to get to live an exciting experience thanks to events.

A lot of posts seem to be discouraged about this being a ‘dev hunt’, in favor for something similar to 2017. Which is totally understandable, but… think about it

The collaboration of a ton of different game universes should be real interesting, new, and immersive.

The reason why this is so tricky to actually pull off in a game event, is because it’s hard to fuse gameplay. If each game implements their own challenge for an egg independently, then any game-story is very disconnected from actual gameplay.

So i hope games this year are able to collaborate and include a collective theme/story in their game to accompany their eggs. Maybe even fuse games with each other, featuring minor characters/ models/ etc. Cuz it’s the metaverse, and that would be cool.

No wonder it’s 2020. However this year’s update were awesome, we gotta wind it up with devhunt.

Really Roblox? Another dev hunt?
Most of us don’t like them, and I know you don’t care about that but they don’t work either.
The goal is to promote games and all that, but people only play for the egg hunt, after it ends the non-popular games remain with less than 50 players, wich probably only 1-3 stayed after the egg hunt, and finally it’s just not fun, it feels like a choir.
But I’m going to trust you with this one, I hope you guys took feedback from the 2019 and 2020 one and made this one better.

Well, roblox dissapointed everyone again, this time removing egg hunts and replacing them with some garbage rthro event. The worst thing about this is that they said it’s an egg hunt when it wasn’t, they tricked all of us.

Nothing says ‘How many players does your game get on average’. It even asks if your game is new. This could mean they are looking for new and fresh developers.

Hey, you never know. You might get it. I honestly think you should just go for it. You never know!

I agree with you with some things.

Yes it should be doable on most devices (that’s why they are saying at least two devices on the form, the two most selected devices I presume will be PC and phone).
Yes there should be a hub, a bit like what Ready Player Two did.

The pros:
Personally, I thought the eggs looked really nice.
I quite liked how it was in different games, only if the compatibility issue could be fixed for future egg hunts.

I applied for my game to be featured, but our theme will actually be egg hunt related.
My biggest fear with this is that Roblox is going too far on the dev hunts, let me explain.
So this year, we had an egg hunt, but it was not what many people were expecting. It was done lazy, objectives were boring, it was just an advertisement for many games I feel like. Take Bad Business for example, nothing new kill someone and you get an egg, something you do all the time. Same with Murder, kill someone with the egg and you get it. I wish their were requirements for what could be put in the game. I respect all Roblox employees and I’m stating my opinion so it can be heard. Many people can agree with me on this. While I hate to be critical to a game I love, you make it hard to like the game sometimes. Given this statement I have the upmost respect to all you Dev Relations Employees. I feel that like the Star Creators are the ones who are ruining the event, I thought Tower Defense Simulator was good this year and to see a content creator go on a stream and say that it was boring. Star Creators should not get way more respect than devs.

PLEASE excuse my negativity here but…
“This notorious, seasonal event has been cherished by our community since its inception in 2008.”

…and overall disliked since 2019. Come on, man.

Why this format again? It’s not exactly what I’d call particularly fun, considering that there’s usually an overabundance of games at the cost of task quality. I’m just hoping that maybe, MAYBE this will have a small saving graces such as having a lobby and a smaller amount of games with them having multiple eggs inside them.

I’m sincerely hope this is the last year you guys pull this, it’s just getting annoying at this point.

I think complaints about certain dev hunt games monetizing getting the egg quicker are justified; however, with the rest of the complaints, it’s about time to mind your own business.

What is the ultimate goal of developers who applied to create the egg hunt games of the past?
I can tell you it wasn’t so they could feel good about having made “the best egg hunt”, feeling good doesn’t pay bills. Their goal was to increase their connections and make it onto a team that was going places.

The reality is developers want to work on their own games, and Roblox recognizes that, and is giving a platform for game communities to earn a special hat made in the Roblox catalog. Before UGC, this was a big deal, as it was the only way to get a hat themed off of your game.

My team’s games have participated in the 2019 and 2020 egg hunt. Luckily neither one of my team’s games were mentioned in a negative light by anyone here, I guess because if you do something right - or at least not wrong - nobody bats an eye.

My goal with applying to the egg hunt the past 2 years was to give my group’s own game community the opportunity to win an official Roblox hat that is themed from the games. Nobody is forcing you to play all the games, mind your own business in your own community and a lot of the negativity goes away.

I think so. It would need active players or just a lot of visits to get accepted.

My other problem with these dev hunts is they just aren’t fun. You have to learn how to play 45+ games, and you never will play these games again. Please make the games follow the criteria of the theme. I found it lame that some games had nothing new, no new maps, no new controls/mechanics. Take Egg Hunt 2018 for example, I regard it as the greatest one I have played. The map was built by hand, there was no luck involved, hub made total sense to you. That was what I call an Egg Hunt. And let’s be honest, half of the games they picked were beyond boring for 2020’s egg hunt.
