To add to this, I can say in my experience at living away from home in College that:
Living with a roommate saves a ton of money
If you own a car, and commute from further out, it’s essentially like you’re being paid for the drive, based on the money you’ll wind up saving
If you lived in any of the places on that Zillow link, yes, half of your money would be gone on rent alone, but you definitely won’t starve on 5k a month. You won’t be able to be exactly lavish and buy Gucci like a mad-man, but you certainly won’t be hurting at all either.
I’m not saying that you can’t live off that salary, but what I’m saying is to adust to your cost of living. For someone who is used to living in a low cost area, $2000 a month will let you rent a relatively new 3000 sqft home(yes I checked), so if you do live in a super low cost area, I would’ve suggested you try doing the remote offer.
Is this position still available? If so is there a rough estimate as to how long it might take to receive a reply on an application? I’m sure there’s quite a few to look through so I can only imagine how busy you must be with all this.
This is an open position with no set limit on time or number of people.
We don’t normally respond to applications unless we want to move forward with the hiring process. Not getting a response could mean we haven’t seen it yet, but it doesn’t mean you were rejected. Sometimes a person isn’t a good fit at a specific time, but we may cycle back to them later.
A curious question popped into my mind after applying to this, and thinking about it.
So obviously, we’d be doing work for RedManta on Roblox. Does the contract have anything in it about what we’d consider our own stuff?
Like, for example, personal projects on Roblox that have no RedManta entitlement. Does the contract say that’s our own stuff, or is any work on Roblox whether directly for RedManta or not, have RedManta “ownership” of it?
I’d assume not, however I’ve seen some companies do that these days.
Would you ever be considering hiring off site employees? Because I’m interested in this position, however at this current point in time I’m unable to leave Texas, having to take care of my parents.
Your usual “contracting” jobs will still happen at times in the future, however? Or is your whole off-site contracting being replaced by full on-site employees?
Based on our success with the on-site offers, I don’t see any reason to offer remote positions for generalized jobs like programming or building. A person who works on-site is almost always more valuable than someone who’s remote. So unless something changes I don’t see us hiring remote for anything that we can have on-site.
Of course we aren’t going to replace the remote people we already have if it turns out they can’t move out. This is just the way I see us hiring moving forward.
That’s a great move forward, I applause you for that. I feel like RedManta’s evolution is coming along very nicely, and something to be celebrated. Great work guys!
Yeah that’s just it! One of the many reasons I applied. Being on-site with the people I am working with is way more efficient and valuable. There’s no chance of drifting off task, and he other thing being that it is expected of me to get tasks done. When I would need to communicate and pitch ideas, I can simply give a hollar or something like that.
