A reply marks the OP as a reply to itself

Not sure when it started, but this reply (Fig. A) has the OP (Fig. B) as a reply to itself; i.e. Fig. A has 1 reply, the reply is Fig. B when this is impossible.

A hard refresh did not fix the problem.

I think your use case 1 is a totally different feature from 2/3, because in 1 the image placement in the text matters (it’s important to understand the text) where in the other two you just want it to fit into a frame reactively (doesn’t matter where specifically the text cuts as long as it fits). It would be convenient if the first was implemented as a rich text extension, and the other two as a new UI constraint you insert under a TextLabel or so which would make the text lay out in such a way…

It’s always been like this as far as I’m aware. I assume it’s just Discourse Meta.

Always been like this. In fact, I have previously already made a bug report on this in the Discourse Meta, as well as here.
