As a lighting feature request, I think that we should be able to change the sun’s brightness within Lighting. I am talking about the appearance of the sun rather than the game’s brightness. As of now, the ClockTime attribute within Lighting data controls the brightness of the sun texture.
For custom skyboxes w/ custom celestial textures, it would benefit developers if they could control the brightness of these textures (as there is often unnecessary brightness added to custom sun textures)
Here is an example of the different sun brightness appearances: (ignore the sky color)
As you can see in the brighter texture, there is unnecessary brightness at the default ClockTime (which makes the custom sun texture look covered up). Even though the sun is the same texture in both scenes, they look completely different due to the ClockTime in Lighting.
This feature would give developers more control over their game’s atmosphere.
Edit:
This issue is mainly with compatibility lighting.
