[Action Needed] Upcoming Changes to Asset Privacy for Audio

I forgot to mention that using up all of your uploads doesn’t allow you to pay for anymore until it refreshes your uploads. Sorry!

Allow me to correct you:
We could do that better before this update.

One last question will the current audios i have in the game stay there or will they be deleted? Im not verified so i cant reupload them all at once… Roblox should have really made audio uploading unlimited for this time frame…

Let me correct it for you

We could do it much and way better before this update. Lol.

To be fully honest, I’m not too sure. From what I understand, and correct me if I’m wrong, all audio will have to be re-uploaded. Super frustrating, but I believe that’s what is happening.

Unless they make it public (a feature coming soon)

Yes, if it is longer than 6 seconds and you don’t own it, it will be unplayable and possibly even break scripts that use audio-dependent functions.

Fix your moderation and support system first before doing updates that are not helpful at all. -_-

I am still not understanding what being ID verified has anything to do with audio uploading. Does anyone care for an exaplanation?

You did read it wrong, small developers cant get premium, nor devex (probably because they are under 18) nor age verification (again, some of them are under 18)

so now you probably did read “10 audios per day”, but the real thing is “10 audios per month”
PER MONTH, PER MONTH , so you can only upload a sound only 1 time each 3 days, is this even good for you? not to note that 99% if not 100% of games are probably gonna get broken

(i think i already posted this but i got some errors in my internet, sorry if i accidentally made a duplicate post)

What the hell does being 18+ have to do sound uploading?

We do not need to risk getting doxxed for this access. 50 - 100 should be the bare minimum. Either brains were turned off or something is fishy here.

It says I’m allowed to upload 2000 per month. So is it based on my visits? I have a game that’s over 130K visits.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure you get 2000 per month if you DEV EX.

Unity’s looking pretty nice all of a sudden…

do you really have to bring systemic racism into this? it’s not relevant, even if its an important topic

This poses a major problem for composers on Roblox. There needs to be a permissions system that allows developers to specify which users, groups, or games have the right to use their audio if they’re going to do something like this.

Much of my game’s music is composed by myself and my friend who co-created my game, but only audios I produced and uploaded under my account remain usable and all audio composed by my co-creator is now unusable. It shouldn’t be necessary for me to reupload all of his music for it to remain available to our players.

Now imagine how much of an issue this should be for larger scale projects who hire music producers - what’s the chances that all of the music will be uploaded by the game owner as opposed to the composer? Did Roblox consider this before announcing that we have less than 2 weeks to replace all audio in all of our projects??

Nope. Some people have dev ex’d millions and haven’t gotten 2000. So it’s so weird.

To slightly correct you, small devs can get premium, but sometimes at a fairly inconsistent pace, and they can verify their age if they have something like a ID card.
But you see, when it comes to the ladder, some people just don’t want to verify with a ID for various reasons, either because they can’t or because they don’t trust Roblox with personal information like that.
And because they don’t want to verify, or they can’t, they’re stuck with only uploading ten audios a month, which can be a pretty nasty set back for small developers.

Unsure why we haven’t been told how to get 2000 uploads in the first place?
