[Action Needed] Upcoming Changes to Asset Privacy for Audio

To slightly correct you, small devs can get premium, but sometimes at a fairly inconsistent pace, and they can verify their age if they have something like a ID card.
But you see, when it comes to the ladder, some people just don’t want to verify with a ID for various reasons, either because they can’t or because they don’t trust Roblox with personal information like that.
And because they don’t want to verify, or they can’t, they’re stuck with only uploading ten audios a month, which can be a pretty nasty set back for small developers.

Unsure why we haven’t been told how to get 2000 uploads in the first place?

Well, I never used Dev Ex before. I made like 10K+ robux in my game so does this mean I’m Dev EX now?

Exactly. I want to share music that I upload, how am I supposed to do that when I can’t put it for sale.

No clue. Going on 3’000 replies and no response or acknowledgement from roblox. Weird.
@Arc_1996 I don’t think so, I believe you need to have 50,000 - 100,000 robux to Dev Ex, correct me if I am wrong.

How am I supposed to reupload my own audios if the process is taking me 12 hours+ to get it done, I am so overwhelmed and feel like the whole new process of uploading audio is so unreliable.

This seems like a good idea at first, but I think that without the new privacy settings, sorting my audios is completely unachievable in this timeframe.

If I understand this correctly, this breaks any audio uploaded to my profile in my group games???

This feature has potential, but please, give us more than two weeks when rushing out half-baked, game-breaking changes.

Why don’t you guys get more licenses for other audio providers then giving us slim options, like “Monstercat” they barely like any music that I know and the only way I know them from is “Crab Rave” in your post about them you put with a bunch of hype into it because it had Crab Rave involved like it’s really a party for this new system to go into place?

Like please for the love of god get some more licenses from other creators then just “Monstercat” so we can use other copyrighted material on your platform, then being so slim down to a few options of using your own stock provided audio when you guys been uploading them with inappropriate names as the Title.

P.S. Please make the system if you guys make Roblox stock audio have better tagging and the title is based on what the audio is mainly because you have 2000+ Stock Audio on your profile and it takes forever to go through and find the right one.

Good Update. Flaws i found are…

Old sound effects shouldnt be private because they were meant to be public use in the first place.

10 sounds every month is way too low. you should either allow people to upload by paying upload fee after they exceed the limit or increase the limit to ~30, or at least increase the limit for some time so people can upload all the sound effects for their games until the update is out.

Thankfully, the limit is easily bypassed. I mean, my ASA module can already allow for 30 2-minute audios, or 200-800 5-20 second audios.

I rather be paying a fee then having a monthly limit on how much Audio I can upload. (Some users have as low as 10 per month)

I think maybe it’s based on developer rewards or premium because I do have the 2000 limit but I never applied to Dev Ex.

Roblox. Reply to us. Stop and think a minute. You’re going to lose a lot of developers if you don’t revert this or find a better solution. The fate of the platform is in your hands. Some of the top most popular experiences will be destroyed. You didn’t think this through.

MAKE A DECISION. US OR MONEY?

Weird. I really have no clue. Seem’s like roblox doesn’t even know what THEIR criteria is. Been 2 days, 3’000 replies, countless videos, tweets, and petitions, no reply from roblox.

Welp time to learn unity. I Hope it’s fun making horror games there.

Roblox… powering YOUR MONEY not listening to others’ feedback. They don’t care because they are still making big bucks no matter what.

True. They don’t care about their community, what am I thinking

Your system is so broken for audio uploading, I am a group owner and my own audio in a game I own on a group is considered “NOT VALID” which is quite annoying you guys should fix that, “should be owned by the creator” I AM THE CREATOR.

Roblox has a weird way of saying that you own the audio. You need to upload the audio on a group for it to be considered that you own the audio. User uploads don’t count.

It is the audio file. You can use Media Player Classic (from K-Lite Codec Pack) to open the files.

If you instead want a clean file without the “RBXH” metadata, you can delete everything up to the “Timing-Allow-Origin:” line (using notepad++ can help) and save it as another file; that works too.
No need to download it.

This also applies to other assets in the temp folder, such as images, meshes and other various files that the client needs to cache.
