Multi-billion dollar company. They should take the loss.
no way lmao, either way complaining wonât fix the problem , almost everyone hated on previous roblox updates and they never did anything, i really think roblox needs to go under someone elseâs ownership tbh
Iâve replied to this post already two days ago, but I just want to restate how catastrophic this is for me - while I understand now why the audio library had to be effectively wiped clean (copyright), the issue I have most is that users cannot make public audios after this update. I stated in my original post that my experience relies on users creating their own content (using building tools and the like). A lot of the charm from my experience (and many similar, more popular experiences just like it) is hearing music that players like and decided would fit the situation. My game is in the same boat as boomboxes - the selection of audios is now erased to just APM and Monstercat. MANY of my players have already planned on quitting once this update drops, as this restricts their creativity and erases the charm of the game. When I wrote my original post I misunderstood the update details and thought users would be able to upload public audios after to use in their content (within my experience), but apparently making audios public is straight up being disabled while Roblox assesses âbetter solutionsâ. Why werenât we given an estimate? Why werenât we given any ideas?

Just hope if that does happen that EA doesnât get their hands on Roblox.
Did it get copyrightedâŚ? Like as of now? Sounds shouldnât display an X if you own it?
Unless your pretty sure you didnât upload a sound to your account and not a group and now using that sound in a group gameâŚ? or the other way around
I think the year youâre trying to refer to is 1984.
Chill buddy, first of all this is great for asset protection, maybe you shouldnât be using other peoples assets in the first place, second of all, this only applies to preexisting clips of 6 seconds or longer, third people can set it to public. Perhaps you didnât think about the upsides and downsides before replying.
the audio itself didnât get a copyright take down but thereâs no other reason it could get denied. the sound is uploaded to my current account for a game thatâs on my current account.
not sure if I missed this but are you able to reply to me saying where it said people can set it to public?
This topic is like every year gets worse by post numbers if you get what I mean.
The problem is, Everything is Private by default.
This will ruin anything made by inactive or disabled users.
You canât set it to public yet. Thatâs why people are complaining. They are rolling this update out in 11 days and all existing audioâs over 6 seconds are going private while currently not being able to become public.
You can use anything in toolbox without permission, maybe you should learn more about it.
Well, Roblox is starting to become like EA, so⌠I donât think there would be much of a difference
Knew someone would know more than me, hope that helps the OP I was replying to!
Did try clearing the header data in windows media player, maybe removed too much.
Theyâre being sued. Thatâs why this is happening.
Our point is, Roblox should not be force updating audio assets to be private and according to the change, the ability to make them public again will be indefinitely unavailable. Many audio creators have actually granted everyone the right to take their sounds, so it really should just be a matter of optionality meaning it should be up to the audio creators whether they want their sounds to be used by other people or not.
Accidentally replied to that post, sorry. Canât edit my original post to include apologies. I just need to know how long my game is going to go silent for. The one Iâm mentioning is my only substantial Roblox project, and this update is effectively killing it within the span of one announcement.
I wouldnât say the stocks are tanking solely because of this update, but I will say thatâs probably a contributing factor.
It is, Unity Is very powerful for things like that
