While it isn’t too related to this topic, the issue is that Roblox while importing this large library of rights-cleared sounds is not checking to make sure that none of the uploaded audios have profane content… would kind of defeat the point of them moderating for profane content in audios if they uploaded it themselves

If ROBLOX goes forward with this audio update i hope they add all the car sounds and the police sounds and sound effects developers use for games on the library or we would have to make them. as of now i do not see any sound effects for games made by roblox

This is going to destroy MILLIONS of roblox games, and all the boombox gamepasses in games. If this goes into effect, we can confidently say that this is the worst roblox update ever.

this update kills the ability to listen to the music we actually wanna listen to. when’s the last time you found your favorite song on roblox uploaded by roblox’s automated apm music port? you don’t know what you’re talking about; stop biting.

I’m hearing many developers talk about quitting or taking a break from Roblox after the backlash of this update. I’m gonna make a poll and see what everyone’s thoughts are regarding this.

Honestly, this entire update seems like a lazy way of addressing the issue of copyright infringement. This update is just a nicer way of saying “Uh oh! This copyright stuff got out of hand! How do we fix it? Oh, I know! We’ll just get rid of the entire Roblox audio library! We’ll just have to word it a bit differently so people don’t get too mad”.
I genuinely hope this update is not final since a LARGE portion of Roblox history would be lost. Part of Roblox’s charm is the abundance of small games made by small developers. This update would create an eerie silences in these types of games. It’s really unfortunate to see Roblox take this decision.
