Ad revenue died last night?

So I knew that school was going to be a hit, but when roblox died on the 20th (judging by visits per hour) the time of breakage coincided with the payout of ads, so I was wondering if this was due to a restart of servers or loss of data because, as you can see below, the numbers dont match.

Amazon had a big issue yesterday, which affected a lot of stats for games, and such. Hence that could be the reason

Was wondering if the same compensation thing that they did around xmas last year may be used as I have lost a significant amount of money due to this hiccup which I understand isnt their fault.
I highly doubt that any compensation will be given since it was out of their hands and affected all developers equally. If they do provide any it would be a gesture of good-will.

The 3 day delay on receiving and revenue means this isn’t related to the Amazon issue

Yeah I usually make a few thousand from it each day. Last night I made a whopping 386 R$

Wait what is this a screenshot of? Are you guys making robux from advertisements?

Yes, see here

The thing is, I was expecting approx. $100 from that day and it is less than 1 cent.

Not sure if Roblox wasn’t tracking the video ad stats correctly or if it is actually a case of being paid incorrectly as I dont often check my money differences

So it turns out that Merely put up restrictions on the wiki 3 days before my income died. Are these related?

You had gotten 34,111 ad impressions from 68,222 Robux. Thats a 0.028:1 Tickets to View Ratio.

Back in 2010 I had gotten 443,796 ad impressions from 15,557 Tickets. Thats a 28:1 Tickets to View Ratio.

I find it interesting to compare Roblox from 2008-2010 to now, TL:DR -
Roblox has changed.

-Edit: Completely misunderstood the thread, excuse this pointless response, thanks-

Because those are on site ads, not ads you display in game. You get paid 2R$/ad impression for video ads.

All I did was document the existing restrictions, since they weren’t listed on the wiki.

I’ll upload a graph of ads viewed:visits ratio when I get home and you will see why I think something was changed

Ads viewed per visitor over time.
I’ll give you 1 guess as to when I think something happened

I’m not saying you added the restrictions, I’m asking if the guest thing is new as it wasn’t a thing when i first set up video ads for my game.
The graph shows you why I think some additional restriction was added

The guest thing sounds familiar – I think I heard about it when mobile ads were first announced.

Nothing is mentioned about this in any of the blog posts below:
- Announcement
- 5:1 pay increase
- 1:1 pay increase
- 2:1 pay increase

The original one points to the wiki which used to mention BC members being unable to view ads.
As far as guests are concerned, I’m fairly certain it is new as I used guest accounts to test my system in October 2014 and used them every time I made any changes to the system

Here is a better graph with more data.
The point at which the restrictions were documented is where the graph almost touches the X axis

Is there any more evidence needed for this? There has been no substantial change in percentage visitors on each platform and yet this has consistently halved the ratio

My ad revenue went way down as well after the incident.
Pretty consistent pattern of phone/tablet visitors, but much less ad revenue in this past week
Dunno if it’s because of the guests or what, but something has definitely changed to cause reduced ad revenue.

Mind posting an ads viewed per visit graph? Otherwise it could be attributed to the end of summer

Unfortunately, we had to disable most ads for under-13 users, as non-COPPA compliant ads were being shown (they’re supposed to be filtered by the ad provider). We’re working on getting them restored ASAP.
