I think this would be a great idea. It will be like a chat for all developers to take a break, since many of them post in development discussion, which is not made for so. I think this category should be anything that the people would like, as long as it’s somewhat development related; however, not fully.

I’m pretty sure you’ve literally just described the lounge category available for Regulars.
Having this for Members would be a bad idea since a considerable number of them are new and have little familiarity with how to use the forum.

So Discord? Why not just use Discord directly? This is a development forum, and yes while #lounge exists, it’s a legacy category – you won’t find anything resourceful there.

As @souppression has mentioned, this would essentially cause chaos as it would be difficult to monitor and decide what is acceptable and not, as it would be a ‘general’ chat.
Regulars have the lounge which is understandable as to become a Regular you need a good understanding of how the forum functions.
A category for new players would be filled with issues and arguments, constantly, with no clear use for anyone.
It’s time they open regular again. No words since when they removed it. Like, jesus. I think a general category can be good for like certain sub-cagetories, as something might not fit somewhere but also do at the same time;

I disagree, I’d rather not have this forum turn into the new Roblox public forum. You’re gonna have a lot more people join this forum which will deter it from its main purpose.
If you want to socialize, there’s an unofficial roblox server and an unofficial devforum server (ran by community leaders)

No, this is a bad idea. #lounge exists if they added a general category it would ruin the purpose of the Developer Forum. Just use Discord or create private messages here.
I agree with @Coldshot_Dev its a bad, because forum is not a place to chit chat its a place to discuss about development and anything that related in to it if the general category been added it will be caused so much chaos.
This forum is called the Developer Forum, not the Roblox Forum.
Absolutely no support. If you want a Roblox Forum 2.0, create a website feature request.

I agree with this there should be a regular for members all My posts in #development-disccusion keeps getting flagged (even though it’s related to development) pretty sad tbh whoever keeps flagging my posts and the staff agress I did nothing wrong there.

Or roblox should add a Group chat feature
You can invite multiple people to a DM so this already exists as well.

The idea of a lounge category for regular members is that there would be few rules so this shouldn’t be a concern.
Given that the original was taken down I doubt that’d be approved ever.
