As a Roblox developer, i found out that certain bug reports get closed without a specific reason or you disagree with the reasoning, my solution would be able to appeal the option to Roblox Staff or to have a new “Request Open” button next to the topic name whenever the topic has been set to closed
For example, a topic got closed for being a “feature request” while i disagree with their decision and being certain that this is a bug report: (Name and pfp censored for privacy reasons)
Another situation would be if you made a normal bug report and staff closes it because they believe that theres invalid information.
This would be a nice addition as many bug reports get closed without specific context or not agreeing with the reasoning of the staff and a appeal option would probably be a solution to this. It would also be good being able to reopen a bug report if it got closed for “Invalid Information” instead of making a new bug report when theres already certain information provided.
Note that i not only mean when the topic gets closed itself but also when the status gets changed to “Closed” as this sometimes happens without a staff reply ever again
This would improve my experience using the devforum and probably for others too
It would be better if you could manage to change the category from bug report to feature request. If it is not a bug rather than an intentional change/behavior/design, you could edit the post and do small modifications if forum users, Roblox employees, or both parties say to the OP that it is a feature request.
This applies to all categories as-well. If a topic just gets immediately closed it discourages reposts of genuine questions/feedback that fit under a category. It may also discourage new users from using the forum entirely. The moderators should instead move the topic to the correct category and send them a feedback message pointing them to what that category is and why.
I got a good example where appealing a status would be good:
This bug report was marked as “Fixed”, despite telling the staff a month ago that it isn’t actually fixed, it was ignored despite staff being online
This is why it would be nice if this feature request get’s added as soon as possible, not only for the community but probably would be good for organizing for Roblox Staff aswell
