As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to make space games and car games with accurate physics, due to the automatic rotational deceleration that all baseParts experience. Having an option to disable this could also benefit racing simulators and other driving games, so they can model their own rotational deceleration accurately.
On top of this, the current rotational deceleration is extremely jarring. A part that is slowly rotating doesn’t come to a smooth stop, it snaps to a stop once it gets slow enough and it looks bad. On top of that, parts do not respond to small jerks in rotational force properly, sometimes it completely ignores them if they are not strong enough. This makes doing small rotational maneuvers in a space game difficult.
I understand the current rotational deceleration is important for things like making part physics go to sleep faster, but a toggle option in workspace would be an amazing addition.
If Roblox is able to address this issue, it would improve my development experience because the automatic rotational deceleration is completely unrealistic in space and hinders accurately modeling correct physics for space, as well as vehicle wheels.
