This feature is new and it has a lot of issues. It’s unusable at the moment (in my opinion).
AI Code Assist is a beta and this is to be expected. There is currently no workaround and this is normal behavior.
I would ask you read this DevForum thread on fire more information about the state of AI Code Assist.
