Additionally, I am unable to join their experiences. The status is still “website” even when I refresh the page.

Seems like you have extensions enabled. Turn them off and try again.

As @bvetterdays said, try turning off any extensions, often when the website updates it can break them

Oops, looks like this one was closed because engineers thought it was to do with extensions.
Seems like this is not the case, as another report has been filed here:
Recommend you give that one a bump to have this addressed.
