I would like group announcements to be made public for all group owners or bare minimum, more options to be presented for the function. Group shouts are nice, however group announcements are vastly superior in a lot of aspects with the included ability to enable notifications, attach files like images which is a great way to generate hype or show sneak peaks of updated content relating to your experience.
Currently the only way to utilize announcements is through Guilded. Having it walled off only to Guilded is a bit stupid and should be made available for all group owners to use without having to connect a Guilded server to use it, we shouldn’t have extremely useful features like this be essentially blocked off for the sake of getting more people to start using Guilded, it’s just extremely lazy and is unneeded, if they want more people to use it, actually improve the platform instead of this “exclusive feature” route they’re taking.
Other features
If for whatever reason the implementation of built-in Roblox announcements isn’t possible, please at least allow Discord compatibility of this feature. I understand Guilded is basically Roblox’s competitor for Discord, but we as the users should be given more options and not be confined to a singular service. Thanks.
I mostly agree, I used to be a big Guilded supporter until they forced all Guilded accounts to be linked with Roblox, as well as making it so you have to be 17+ to upload videos and using web cams in Guilded.
Ever since those updates, they done NOTHING, to add actual USEFUL features to validate using Guilded, especially with the creator side (game development, ugc creation and more).
Instead, they make NEW features that are competing AGAINST Guilded itself. Such as the Roblox Community forums, Roblox chat and more.
Those features could have easily have Guilded integration.
There are other Guilded Integration ideas I have, such as linking Roblox Community/Game events made by the developer to their own Calendar channel, intergration with Roblox Creator roles with Guilded roles and server groups, chat intergration to Roblox Studio, Talent Hub or more, multiple announcement channels on Roblox Communities announcement section or extending the Guilded Announcements feature to show up under UGC items or even in game!
And so many more that could actually benefit Roblox developers. But instead, they make Roblox integrations to Guilded that can be easily recreated via Discord bots.
At this point, just shut down Guilded or hire someone who can manage Guilded in the right direction.
Probably not a good idea considering Roblox and Discord dont have a good history with each other… cough cough… Child safety issues. Although, considering they DO own Blox.Link now. I dont see why it wouldnt work. Not to mention that formating with Discord messages has gotten better.
This should’ve been added ages ago, and I don’t like it being locked behind multiple-platform integration, I think it should just be a default feature.
I very much agree with this. I have 2 other feature requests for groups and it would be cool if they did both my feature requests and yours when Roblox finally finishes the “community” revamp on December 1st.
