An Advanced Virtual Reality keyboard

Overview

Greetings everyone! This is my first ever resource on the forum, hence, I am pretty excited!

You may know that I had uploaded a Virtual Reality based Keyboard system here: VR Keyboard → .

Today I am going to be open-sourcing it for others to use in their VR games.

Advantages and Disadvantages

Advantages

• Predicts words that the user is typing.
• Predicts sentences, like: “Hello how” (The italicized word is supposed to be a predicted word.)
• Clean and user-friendly GUI design.
• Dual controller capability by using a custom projection system.
• OOP-based module.

Disadvantages

• A bit messy code. I apologize for that.
• No auto-correction system.
• No emoji system.

How to use.

# Methods	Description
Module:Create(activeText:string)	Creates a new keyboard instance with the text provided. Returns a table of other functions discussed below.
Module:Stop()	Stops the active keyboard.
Module:GetCurrentText()	Returns the text currently typed by the user.

# Events	Description
onFinish (Text,EnterPressed)	Fires when the player either clicks outside the bounds of the keyboard or presses the enter key on the virtual keyboard. Returns the text that the user has currently typed and a boolean which determines if the enter key was pressed
onUpdate (Text)	Fires whenever the user presses a key on the virtual keyboard. Returns the current text the user has typed.
