I remade an old model for an npc as the old one I made had some issues when trying to make it into a moving npc. However, I have run into a very odd issue while rigging and animating the model.
here is a view of the rig I have so far, made with rigedit (it is not finished)
I decide to try animating what I’ve rigged so far to see if the joint placements are good, and as soon as I move a joint: (example below, the left upper arm)
As you can see, the arm just flies away. I have no clue what is causing this.
The whole lower part of the rig seems to work fine, it moves as intended, but the top half just does not want to cooperate.
This is what happens when I try move the head:
The worst part of this is that it completely breaks the model after I leave the animation editor.
Luckily I did create a duplicate before trying to animate in case something happened.
I have tried re-rigging the model but I ran into the same issue.
I have tried searching to see if anyone else ran into this issue, and nothing came up.
The model is mainly made up of unions. I did this with my previous model and it worked fine, and on this one the legs work as intended and they are entirely comprised of unions.
What can I do to fix this? is this something I can fix?
