If they’re going to be free immediately after publishing, and then every 24 hours, what’s the point of making them cost 100 robux?

The badge fee now only applies if you try to make 6 or more badges in the same day. If you create 5 badges in one day, you can simply take a break and add another one for free after 24 hours have passed. I believe this is to prevent botted badges, although that seems rare to me.

The reason there’s still a limit is so people don’t spam Roblox with meaningless badges, the limit helps give badges a good & meaningful use to your experience.
The 24 hour period resets every day at UTC time zone midnight. No matter when or how many you claim, at UTC midnight you will have 5 free badges available to create for that given UTC day.
Actually I am unsure. Developer Hub says GMT, their API endpoint says UTC. Neither of which are my time zones, if you think that might have been why. wait im dumb, those are both within the same timezone.

I feel bad for those who have already spent money on badges, especially spam-badge games.

Speaking on the badges, I think that they are not that well presented. Being able to pin or favorite badges on your profile would be amazing. Some badges are extremely hard to get and showing them off would be really cool. Idk maybe just a useless feature, but I love that I can make badges for free now.

I agree with this, I’ve found badges personally worthless and the fact people are measuring in the metrics of amount instead of the difficulty kind of bothers me.

This is the right step to the perfect roblox building experience, a few days ago i was reluctant to add badges, as i don’t want to spend robux, now… i (or we) have the privilege to add free badges!

A welcome improvement towards helping the development community. People may complain about Developer Exchange rates, but recent changes reducing the significance of Premium and removing fees are definitely something that gives smaller developers an easier workflow.

When I first saw people talking about it in the HiddenDevs Discord Server I couldn’t believe it, I thought maybe they misread something. Sure, there could be 5 free badges per experience, but the fact that it resets every 24 hours? No way. While reading this thread I can still barely believe it. Roblox just made a huge favor for the development community. Just afraid of one thing, scam games that will spam you with badges.
