[APPEAL ACCEPTED BUT ACCOUNT STILL BANNED!] Friend Falsely Terminated After Being Warned for a Decal Previously Content Deleted

Hello. My good friend, RobertHermlin, had his account terminated in the early hours of yesterday morning, October 2nd. He was banned for a decal he uploaded around 2-3 weeks ago. Shortly after he uploaded this decal weeks ago, he received a warning for “Sharing PII” and the decal was content deleted by Roblox. This theoretically should mean that he could just continue on with life and possibly appeal the warning at a later time. That was the case, until yesterday morning. He was instantly terminated for “Sharing PII” with no extra warnings or information given. This is absolutely insane, and has really upset us.

However, this isn’t the first recorded case of this happening. Mid last year, popular Roblox Youtuber and content creator, “Flamingo”, uploaded a video where he shared that his account would receive constant warnings for his Roblox Community emblem that was already content deleted previously. I am sure there are many more recorded cases of this happening, and if you have any to share, please reply to this post. I would love to hear about it!

Now, a few things to keep in mind in this post. I am not “begging” the Roblox Devforum staff to unban my friend (although it would be great if they could help in any way!). I know that they have no control over moderation because they are not in that department. I am simply just sharing what has happened to my friend and listening to see if any of you have had experiences like this. So, if you have any testimonies of your account being falsely moderated in any way for instances similar or exactly like this, please share them in the replies! I would love to hear them, and the moderation team would love to use them to train moderation to better standards! Even if you don’t, liking this post, sharing it with others, and replying helps protect my friend and other innocent players from being falsely banned for this exact reason.

And, in the case that you were wondering what image got my friend banned, it is below with other links. In the image, it has a group shout that states “Join our server to be trained!”
For context, “Our server” is referring to the Roblox Community/Group/Server that owned our game.

For anyone wondering, Roblox Support has refused to even answer his appeal emails that he sent in over a week ago. No automated response, no human response, nothing.

EDIT: I just asked him for more context, and it turns out that a few days ago his appeal on the Roblox website page WAS indeed accepted and it claimed that “all consequences have been reversed”, but he is STILL banned. However, the emails that he sent still have no response.

This seems to be some type of bug. It would probably be useful for him to copy the “Appeal ID” which is located at the bottom of the appeals page where the appeal got accepted and send it over to support as a reply to the confirmation email. Roblox Support normally answers every ticket but it can take a while

Best they can do is not creating new tickets as this appearantly delays roblox support response times. The ticket is in a queue and gets answered eventually

I see. He did send around 4 emails total, one of which included the accepted appeal ID. None of them were responded to, not even the first one.
It has been 6 days, and he still isn’t unbanned yet still has the “appeal accepted” message.

10 Days until his account is gone. Roblox Support has STILL refused to respond to any of his Emails although his appeal was accepted and his account is still terminated. If anyone knows what to even do now, please let me know.

For anyone wondering, here is the image showing that his appeal was accepted for the item that broke the rules. This decal was the only thing that could’ve had his account banned, yet it is still not unbanned.
HOWEVER, we just discovered tonight that he was mass AI reported by an enemy roleplaying group, and this decal was the only thing that AI could find to ban him for. Are we just screwed at this point because his account was mass reported with AI? His appeal for the “TOS breaking” asset was appealed and all of his Gmails have been ignored.
Which moderators can I get into contact to try and figure this out with?

I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but you cannot create topics on behalf of other users. This is a rule imposed by the Dev Forum, not me. I received a warning in a similar situation once. I don’t understand why it exists, but it technically prohibits topics like these. My suggestion is to reword your post to indirectly address the other user or delete it altogether to avoid running the risk of getting a warning.

On a side note, I’m sorry that this has happened to your friend. Roblox’s moderation system obviously has many shortcomings; it’s not perfect. You cannot guarantee that your friend’s account will be recovered. They’re basically at the mercy of luck at this point. If they are interested, they could try to experiment in other IDEs other than Studio (which I presume they use) and see if they can find interest in other, more stable, and more fruitful platforms like Visual Studio (which I have recently caught interest in).

If not, they can always create a new account. Yes, it’s unfortunate, and a lot of progress was likely lost, but the joy of Roblox should be doing new things and playing games, not reflecting on accolades of progress to stand on top of, like getting “rich.”

Thank you for informing me about this. I had no idea it was against the rules to post on someone else’s behalf. Now, how exactly would he go about taking to the Devforum, since support is ghosting his emails? He didn’t own a Devforum account prior to this, and he can’t sign up now. He could create an alt account and use that as the Devforum account, however wouldn’t that go against TOS of creating account when an account has been terminated? How else would he even try to get unbanned, if he has no method of contacting Support or moderators?

Another update.
His emails are still being ghosted and we are starting to lose hope of him getting his account back.
However, he has noticed something very strange. Whenever he sends an email regarding the status of his account on a separate email (that isn’t linked to his Roblox account), he finally receives a response. The response states the account’s correct email address and tells him to respond from there. But whenever he sends an email on the correct address, it is ghosted. There isn’t even an automatic confirmation message, it’s just radio silence. We were wondering if it’s somehow possible that his email address that owns the account is marked as spam by Roblox’s support team filter and therefore they do not receive the email? This is all very strange to us, and we have zero clue why they won’t even dare to respond to the emails.

On another note, isn’t it kind of a security risk that any person can simply just ask for the correct email address of a Roblox account? I personally feel like that could be a big security flaw used by bad actors.

Haha! What a big ol’ coincidence!!!
If Roblox is so keen on using AI, why do they even try hiding that by covering their tracks with all these false generic names? (Except for the fact that AI doesn’t work well)

I just feel like they’re cutting costs on staff… I remember that before 2022, the responses were more coherent — it felt like we were actually talking to a person. But now, everyone says the same thing, and that’s where the problem lies.

I was also banned for “Abusing Roblox systems,” with an infraction from April 2024, but I was only banned on October 8 of this year… and right when I was away from home, at a religious event.

So far, I’ve tried contacting everyone I could. A friend of mine used to have several friends who worked at Roblox, but from what he told me, they don’t work there anymore — and that’s a shame, because now everything is much harder… But hopefully, all of this can be reversed and the accounts recovered.

I remember that most things in Roblox before 2022 were actually that way, it felt much more human. Although that’s a topic for another thread.
As for your ban, that sounds like either an enforcement ban or an AI mass report ban (like what my friend in this post experienced). Did you access Roblox on any unknown networks at that event?

I hope you get your account back, Roblox support is terrible nowadays though so good luck.

Idk, my 4 accounts linked to my email were banned for the same reason. None of them have a “clear” explanation of what happened. At that moment, I was outside, at a religious event as I mentioned (the Señor de los Milagros procession, a Peruvian festivity), and I logged into Roblox to see how my game was doing, since I noticed the video I uploaded to promote it was performing well. I logged in, it didn’t load, I restarted Roblox, and then I appeared banned — that’s how it happened, nothing more

Hey, is there anyone on the developer relations team that’s able to bring this up to moderation?
This seems like quite the serious issue and i don’t think anybody deserves to be incorrectly terminated like that.

I’d recommend for everyone seeing this post to bump it so it gets the attention from staff.

i think i got the same issue, my account got banned after an appealed false asset ban that still counted towards the termination counter. someone pls lmk if yall find a solution :sob:

Update: almost two months later, we are still eagerly waiting to hear from the Roblox Support team via Email (any of the 5 Emails sent works)!
Everyone must just be on a two month holiday break, huh.

Sorry to hear that. When was your account banned? I have a strong feeling this ban on my friend was caused by an enemy of ours mass AI reporting his account and the AI just chose an already deleted asset.
