Roblox Developer Forum Rules & International Communities

Welcome to the Roblox Developer Forum!

The Developer Forum is a space for both new and experienced Roblox developers and creators to discuss all things related to creating on Roblox, from official product announcements to bug reports. In this forum, you can learn from others within the community, ask Roblox staff questions and offer feedback, and hear about upcoming events and opportunities.

Join the Developer Forum & International Communities

To join, all you need to do is start using the Developer Forum as a development resource! By default, you are able to view almost all categories of the forum, including announcements, development support topics, all sorts of resources and tutorials, as well as bug reports and feature requests that have been submitted by forum members.

You are not yet able to post, but you can browse posts and topics. We also keep track of which posts you have visited and read, and you can bookmark topics and posts that you find interesting.

To get posting access and “level up”, you need to be logged in to your account and spend some time reading content made by others on the forum. You will automatically be granted posting access once you meet the threshold.

FAQs

How do I know if someone is an official Roblox spokesperson?

  • Some users have an icon next to their avatar to indicate that they are Roblox staff members:
    image1 Roblox Staff

I see people with a “Programmer” or “Builder” title, how do I get those?

  • You can join one of the groups here, and then the corresponding title will show next to your name: Developer Forum | Roblox. This is to show off that you have experience in a particular field of development.

I have an idea or an issue related to the forum that I want to share!

  • You can post them in the #forum-feedback category. We regularly check this category for new feature requests and issues. All of your issues and feature requests are heard! For feature requests and bug reports about the Roblox platform, please use the #platform-feedback category.

Official Rules of the Developer Forum

All content and behavior on the Roblox Developer Forum must follow Roblox’s Community Standards and Terms of Use. If you see something that you think violates the Community Standards or Terms of Use, or otherwise makes you feel unsafe, please let us know by using the Report Abuse feature and flag the comment if possible.

In addition, the DevForum community should follow these guidelines to ensure safety and civility:

Do not spam

  • Keep discussion within the subject of the topic. If you want to change the subject, create a new topic.

  • Do not bump old topics or post duplicate topics. You should only reply to older topics if you have significant new information to add to the discussion.

  • If you see improper use of DevForum, please flag the post for the Developer Engagement Team to handle.

  • Do not circumvent any character limit requirements with clutter text (such as long paragraphs with multiple different text fonts, inessential hyperlinks, or excessive spacing).

  • When replying to multiple posts, reply to all of them within one post instead of making an individual post for each response.

Use the categories correctly

  • The Forum categories can be found from the Categories page in the navigation bar. Each category has a pinned “About” topic with important information about the category.

  • Be sure to open the category or subcategory fully and read the “About” topic and all other pinned topics before posting. They describe the purpose of the category and instructions for using it. Anything that does not belong in a category or violates these instructions will be removed.

  • Before posting about a Bug Report or Feature Request, please check if someone has already made a similar post. If you see a duplicate, make sure to flag the topic, and a moderator will merge it with the original bug report or feature request.

  • For Feature Requests, please explain the problem you would like to see improved as thoroughly and thoughtfully as possible.

Do not misuse the system

  • Do not abuse the Flag system to maliciously hide posts.

  • Do not create artificial forum activity, such as using alternate accounts to like your own posts.

  • You may not post on behalf of non-Developer Forum members in any category except for the Bulletin Board.

  • In the Bulletin Board, only links to YouTube, Facebook, Discord, X (formerly Twitter), Twitch, GitHub, GitLab, Trello, and Guilded are allowed. Do not post links to other domains.

In other sections of the Developer Forum, links relevant to the post that do not lead to content that violates the Community Standards are allowed.

Follow guidelines around promotion and monetization

  • You may not use the Developer Forum to ask for or offer monetary investments, whether via Robux or real-life currency.

  • Do not solicit other developers or Roblox employees to advertise products, services, or anything else.

  • Do not claim credit for work that you did not create. This includes, but is not limited to: building, scripting, compositions, animations, 3D models, and artwork.

Support and moderation

  • Please submit a support ticket for any of the following:

    • To ask about or disagree with moderation actions either applied to your content/account or that you’ve seen on the Forum

    • To report stolen content

Note: We can’t assist with accounts or assets that don’t belong to you.

Private Sections

  • Public sections are readable by everyone. All Roblox Community Standards, including our rules on Profanity, apply. In private sections, identified by a lock icon next to the category name, profanity that does not target other users or contribute to other violations of the Community Standards is allowed. Directing swear words at other members or using sexual language is violative in all categories.

Three-Strike System of Moderation

We have a cumulative three-strike system on the Developer Forum that determines punishment lengths and types. Strikes expire after three months.

Strike One

  • One-day suspension from Developer Forum

Strike Two

  • 5-day suspension from Developer Forum

Upon continuing to break rules of the Developer Forum after receiving your first strike, you will receive Strike Two, which comes with another warning message and a 5-day suspension from the Developer Forum.

After this point, continuing to break rules within 3 months of receiving your second strike will result in you receiving Strike Three.

Strike Three

  • Permanent removal from Developer Forum.

Depending on the severity of the issue, this might result in moderation action against your Roblox account.

Thank you.
