A bundle recently published by a UGC creator uses an archived RenderMesh, causing the head to become fully invisible when equipped. This occurs both in the catalog’s “Try On” preview and in-game.
Normally, dynamic head meshes should not be archived, and this issue was previously resolved. However, the use of an archived mesh in this case causes the item to automatically appear invisible. This suggests that the bundle should be removed as the referenced mesh no longer exists or is inaccessible.
Expected Behavior:
Archived meshes should not be usable in dynamic head components. If a dynamic head uses an archived RenderMesh, the entire bundle should be removed as the mesh is no longer available for rendering.
Actual Behavior:
The head asset in the bundle uses an archived mesh, which leads to the head being completely invisible. This happens because the mesh no longer exists or is accessible, making the bundle functionally unusable.
The bundle link I provided in the original post was the only example I could find at the time when I submitted the bug report, and I later found out that it had been deleted. Naturally, after that, other creators began exploiting the same bug as well.
While collecting these links, I came across something odd. As you may know, the ability to upload and publish bundles under a group was recently introduced:
Bundles #2 and #3 (Half Head and Headless Head) have archived meshes, which means they don’t show an icon in the catalog since there’s no mesh available to render. However, those exact same bundles still display an icon on the group’s store page—even though the meshes used in those bundles have been archived. That struck me as a strange bug that might be worth looking into.
This is how Bundles 2 and 3 appear in the catalog due to the archived meshes: their icons are completely invisible because there’s no mesh to display.
Yet on the group’s store page, those same bundles still display a visible icon — as if their meshes were never archived. Unlike how they appear in the main catalog (where the icons are missing due to the archived meshes), the group store treats them as if everything is intact. This visual inconsistency might be worth looking into.
Here’s the group that uploaded the bundles, in case you want to further check:
And again, I hope this mesh archiving issue gets resolved. Sorry if some of the later parts went a bit off topic.
