Im so fricking mad i did this with my spatial voice beta message by roblox
This happened to me a while ago and I was thinking about it today, I got invited to voice chat early and I wanted to save it but it just deleted the message. I tested it today by archiving an unimportant message and it got deleted I hope roblox fixes this soon.
Read the thread, this is about Roblox messages from Roblox.
Well, this aged well…
Special thanks to Roblox for making me panic into deleting historic records of my trades, old TC’s for significant bygone games, etc.
Is this being fixed? I would like to not have to make a .txt file compiling all of the messages, as that would take time that I would rather use doing something else.
I would like to be able to use the “Archive” feature on ROBLOX’s website to prevent these messages from being erased completely.
I’ve only used it once (I think by accident, since the only message I archived was a scam message) because quite frankly the archive feature just seemed useless to me and I’m sure 90% of the platform doesn’t use it either, but if this bug could be fixed so the feature works as intended then I would like to archive all of my system messages from 2014 to 2019.
I have system messages that say that people like Shedletsky, Bereghost and other notable users on the platform had accepted my friend requests at the time before the Followers update was introduced in 2015. A lot of these messages show who accepted my friend requests (apparently I sent a lot of them back then), invited me to Team Create, and even special event messages for earning all the prizes.
I don’t want to lose these messages, as they’re pieces of the time I’ve spent on the platform that I’ve long forgotten about. It’s a part of my history, so I think it’s very important that this bug is fixed if possible.
Is anything going to be done about this? There’s only 9 more days until this change goes into effect.
There’s no reason why we shouldn’t be able to archive these system messages. If for whatever reason they need to be cleared to begin with, we should atleast have the option to archive them just like with any other message.
I’d really hate to lose them if there’s something that can be done about it.
This is still the case. System messages that are archived are not shown in the Archived tab with no explanation or confirmation.
They aren’t actually deleted so it is actually possible to view their contents and unarchive them with the API, they just aren’t shown in the tab.
Still broken. I just archived a bunch of messages I wanted to save, and now I can’t view them in the tab at all.
I had a bunch of “Right to erasure” messages that i archived on accident when archiving all messages. I CAN’T find it, I CAN’T fulfill the right to erasure request, I DON’T have the user id.
This problem is still unresolved 8 years later. I accidentally archived a welcome message from Builderman, now it’s gone. Does anyone know a way to return archived messages?
Still an issue, wanted to archive a entire page of message and lost a years worth of them unaware that they would had deleted them.
Why is this years old bug still not fixed? What is the reason for not fixing it? When is it going to be fixed if ever? Why is no Roblox staff replying to this bug report? Is it really that hard to fix it or are Roblox stuff just lazy and taking this bug as small and not fixing it? We need some explanations here.
I would honestly prefer if the messages feature get a complete revamp with the ability to both delete and archive messages, but since that probably won’t happen anytime soon, Roblox should at least fix this bug.
Something tells me that its a bit of both…
I remember moving my “Welcome to Roblox!” message from Builderman into Archived, and now I wish I hadn’t.
Unfortunately I believe this is working as intended, because there is no separate delete button for messages from Roblox; it’s the same Archive button across all messages but it’ll be moved to the Archived tab as long as it is not a message from Roblox.
I’ve just accidentally ended up deleting all my “accepted friend request” messages from when I joined in 2019 because I assumed they would just end up in the archive (obviously I want to remember my first ever friends on roblox).
Now there’s pretty much nothing I can do about it.
Please fix this, roblox.
