Are competitions for robux allowed?

Hey!

I’ve got another Terms of Service question due to an idea of a “game” project I came up with some time ago.

Is it allowed, per the Terms of Service, to do competitions outside and/or in Roblox for Robux prize? Would this count as a give away, or would it be a donation?

I’m a bit confused on this matter, thus why I needed to ask here.

For those curious, this would be a tourney game with robux prizes for the winning groups. It’d be organized both in-game and in Discord.

No, they are not allowed. Per TOS: “Do not create promotions offering prizes of any sort (including contests, raffles, lotteries, chain letters or any kind of giveaway). It is okay to offer players promo codes for in-game items only so long as they are not in exchange for something (e.g., in exchange for a thumb up on your game).”

Nope, definitely not allowed, and to be honest in terms of alternatives and grey areas there are none, it is very clear you are not allowed to just pay - note not including giving robux to siblings and stuff like that robux to people for anything not development related.

The closest you could really get is paying testers to play your game :man_shrugging:

I am pretty sure that it will be treated as giveaway, so this isn’t allowed.

What were the RB Battles then?

Thats a Roblox Official Event. Official events are always exceptions. You’d think people would’ve called Roblox out wayyy before now.
