Today marks one week since I announced the return of Atlantis. If you haven’t already read the statement, feel free to do so.
I will be giving an update once a week to keep you all informed with progression and a few teaser images. Thank you all for the support and wonderful and kind messages.
PROGRESSION UPDATE FIVE: 9th October
Subscription Service
A week ago I spent 2 weeks developing a subscription service, which is replacing the Premium/Premium+ game passes.
The subscription includes all of the premium features, such as changing nicknames, changing title colours, access to premium areas, tags and commands, but also includes new features too, such as:
Daily
- boosters
- request tokens
- money
and new tags/badges
Player Overhead Titles
The overhead titles have had a complete change, they now look more modern and fit the style with the rest of the club.
Dependant on the user, as usual it shows username and nickname, as well as with their primary badge shown on the left.
In terms of progression like experience, that pops up on a regular basis with other stats too like Money.
Lighting
The Lighting around the club has been changed to a new technology, opening up new possibilities.
For example, the dancefloor now is more like a club, and has a better club vibe. A lot more darker and cool.
And in general, the club is more darker.
In two weeks time, hopefully we will be on the last stretch before release. Super excited to share it all with you.
Come back in two weeks time for the final progression log, afterwards will be important announcements relating to the schedule of release and what YOU will need to do to be prepared for release.
(I can’t show videos of the subscription service on here because the file sizes are too large)
PROGRESSION UPDATE FOUR: 18th September
Since last week, I have done a few minor changes to the Audio System, as well as adding the ability to purchase tokens.
Audio System
Purchasing Tokens - The ability to purchase tokens is now a thing. Prices are subject to change.
Small Tab - Just like the old tab for the request system. It’s functionality is the same, just a new facelift.
Purchase Notifications
When paying for something with Robux, either a game-pass or a product, a notification prompt will show. The information that shows are:
- Payment Status: Tells you whether or not the payment was successful
- Cancellations: Tells you if you cancelled the payment
- Grant Success/Failure: Tells you if you received what you paid for. If you don’t get what you paid for, re-joining will attempt again, and repeat failures means you will get refunded by Roblox in 3 days.
This is a feature to make sure people buy with confidence.
PROGRESSION UPDATE THREE: 12th September
Last week I had said I was rewriting the entire music system and a week later, it’s complete! Let’s take a look.
Music System
The new UI - which has been completely been refreshed to fit the rest of the UI, allows you to request songs using ‘Request Tokens’. It also allows shows the current song playing, as well as 12 song requests.
Request Tokens - Tokens are needed to request a song, and can either be purchased or gained by other ways described at a later date. This is a move to make sure there is another source of income to keep the game alive and active.
I am yet to decide what to do with the unlimited song requests game-pass
Screen Service
I have completely rewritten how ui interfaces works within the 3d workspace, this will allow to have tv screens around the club displaying what song is playing etc at a later date. This feature has been heavily requested and will be possible very soon.
Let’s take a look at the new main screen at the stage!
It operates exactly the same, however the UI has completely had a refresh.
Soo, what else?
You may have noticed “Atlantian Prime” at the side of the Request UI, this will be a new subscription service. More details will be published next week!
PROGRESSION UPDATE TWO: 4th September
Since last week, the new UI has been in full swing and the main UI is pretty much done. Just the fine tuning and fixing any little bugs!
Introducing the new UI to display your Experience, Money, Staff Points and Group/Dance Ranks (Gif 1) (to replace the old big banner at the top) - This will allow you to see all your important numbers, as well as giving you info such as how much experience left to level up.
As well as that, I have also developed a custom Chat/Playerlist.
Chat: The fully custom chat functionality is exactly the same as the default one, however It looks completely different, it displays server ids as well as badges (info on that soon) and of course the messages. (Gif 2)
Playerlist The playerlist is a fully custom, looks amazing to say the least - it displays experience, money and staff points, as well as a progression bar and badges. (Gif 3)
That’s it for the sneaky preview of the new UI, you shall have to wait for the release to see the rest of the interfaces.
So, what’s next to develop?
The Music System is getting a complete rewrite, and thats what I will be doing next. Andddd… after that? wait for next week to find out!
The main question is, WHO IS GETTING EXCITED!?
PROGRESSION UPDATE ONE: 28th August
There will be no images of progression this week, but I am pleased to tell you that the new UI is well underway and is looking amazing so far. I want the UI to be suitable for showing before I show you a sneak peak.
For this week, I would like to recap some of the new content that was announced in November, 2019.
CLUB SPAWN → CLUB PLAZA The new spawn, which is being rebranded to “Atlantis Plaza”, the area before you enter the club. The place for reception, and soon to be other places such as a merch shop, hangout area and leader boards at a later date. (Plus some top secret features!)
ATLANTIS OS The new staff system which will have multiple applications for staff to use, such as a Ticketing System to give players tickets in return of staff points.
RANK CHANGES Rank changes will happen one week before the revamp launches, giving everyone time to get their rank. There will be a further announcement which is undecided at this moment in time.
That makes it a wrap for this week.
