Description
There’s a slight issue with the new Avatar Color Picker and the Default Clothing.
As you can see, old and current avatars let you mix Body Part colors.
However, the issue is that, despite the “No Shirt” is intended. The Avatar Preview, still shows the Default Clothing, regardless.
As you see in this image.
In other words, you were able to mix these two just fine. And you still are!
The only issue is that the Avatar Editor in the Universal App, still shows the Default Shirt. It is not bound to the system that tells whether a Default Shirt should appear or not.
Reproduction Steps
Plain empty avatar.
Go to “All”, and set the color to Black at the lowest shade.
Go to “Torso” and set the color to Black and the highest shade.
Observe the results. (Exit the Avatar Editor, by clicking the Home Icon, for example to save apply changes)
Expected Result
That the preview looks like this, so that it matches how it looks like in the actual game.
Actual Result
In-game the Avatar appears like this, without the default clothing. Because the Brick Colors, or whatever ruleset it is, allows no Default Clothing due to the Torso color.
Despite that, the Default Clothing is still shown even though it’s not being applied. It should be not shown.

I wanted to explore the formula that determines this Default Clothing. And made a post here.
Technically , it is the solution to the issue, that could be implemented into the Universal App.
Roblox recently officially announced the new RGB based Avatar Color Picker, and I started to realize issues with the Default Clothing Preview in the Universal App. This made me think of that Roblox most likely uses a formula to enforce Default Clothing on an Avatar or not, so I started

Hi, just wanted to update that we are still looking into it, and that it’d be at least a few weeks before we have more info.

Hi, the issue you reported has been resolved. The UA app, Thumbnails, and In-experience now all follow the same default clothing rules in case of similar body part colors.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
