Avatar Render // Second Try

Hey there again!

I’ve already tried to make a render once ((FEEDBACK) First Avatar Render - #12 by richardsfanboy), and now took all of the feedback together and tried to make another one. This is what I came up with.

Once again I would appreciate any kind of feedback!

Looks great! Maybe try adjusting the lighting of the render, it’s a bit dark. Nonetheless, keep up the good work!

The pose is fine, you just need help on the lighting. Try using a HRDI to even out your lighting.

You can find HRDI’s here: HDRIs • Poly Haven

I like your commitment to making your work better and better. So, you want some feedback so here it is. Try using a HDRI as my fellow artist [@Lava_Creeper03] said and increasing the Clearcoat setting in the RIG settings to make it have a glossy texture on the Character. Will give a better look. Try going to the lighting settings and increasing the Power and you could change the color of the light to probably match the lighting of the HDRI. You can add a HDRI by following these steps.

  1. Go to your shader editor by clicking here.

  2. Now click on “Object” and click on world.
    image

  3. Now use the Hotkey “Shift+a” and search for Environment Texture
    image

  4. Search for HDRI Haven and pick a HDRI you want and download the 4k or lower or higher resolution and then save it.

  5. Now click on open in your Environment texture. And locate your HDRI and click on it.
    image

  6. Now Connect your node to the strength in the background node. It should look like this.
    image

This is the basic way to do it… And if you don’t want the HDRI to be shown in your Render go to the scene settings

Scroll down and click on “Film”, under “Film” you’ll see Transparent un-checked… Now check it. It should look like this.

Hopefully this will help you! Good luck in your future pieces of art!! There are also a ton of Tutorials online. Keep it up!! :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you for showing me that! I tried using one now. It fixed the lightning in general, but I am not really fine with the lightning around the head and how the avatar is implemented in the scene.

Shading looks kinda off… Good job but make it brighter.

Oops just saw the second one… uhhhhh

The lighting looks uneven and extreme, sometimes an area is bright, and move a bit, it’s very dark, have you tried Three Point Lighting?

Very nice, You could increase the clearcoat settings in the RIG settings in “Object” once you click on the head of the RIG. And you could also decrease the Gamma and exposure settings.

Go back to the scene settings,

Then scroll down to color management and play with the settings.

That can also help you in night time scenes when you want a rather darker scene with the HDRI you want. :slightly_smiling_face:

You can make the HRDI go transparent and keep the same lighting. Also, use a better HRDI.

This is how to make the HRDI transparent:

This is the before product:

Do these steps:

  1. Click the camera icon
  2. Locate the ‘film’ tab and click the drop down
    image
  3. Tick the trasparent box
    image

This is what it looks like now:

Same lighting, just the background is gone. You can replace this background with some models or a sky through photoshop.

Hope this helped.

I tried to play around with special colored lightning in some sort of hallway scene. I am pretty happy with the outcome.

Sorry for bothering you again @OfficiallySpo_oky, but could I also get some feedback on this one? I feel pretty well about that.

Nice lighting you are already getting alot better, Though work on your positioning and like try look at other GFX’s with Tools in their hands like in your case is a gun. And try making doing it that way. Otherwise well done! :slightly_smiling_face:

I really swell job with this, well done!

I like the quality of the model and the pose it’s doing, but I’m not sure about the lighting; maybe make it a bit brighter?

I think you cloud change light.

The lighting doesn’t match like the back is glowing but is dark and at ion the noob waist there’s a unkwon light source
