Discourse has banners by deafult, Roblox disabled them.
They’re actually still hardcoded in
User Cards and Banners are different, not that having User Cards wouldn’t be a bad thing to also have enabled if we have this enabled again

As some others said, stop saying “they need to focus on other things”.
They had enough time & still do to bring back stuff like the Regular promotions and they didn’t.
I think it’s better to have half of something instead of nothing.
Lets face it, theyre NEVER gonna bring it back, its obvious, atleast take the half.
some people do, and they dont want it because “they need to focus on other stuff” which isnt true because this feature can be reenabled in a few steps. If these few steps are affecting the process of “they need to focus on other stuff” again, how are they focusing then.

I just want to say, DevForum shouldn’t become a social media with too much distractions.
Discord is a social platform, the forum is not.
That’s my opinion on the matter. You can’t just say “don’t state that opinion because its wrong”.
At this point DevRel hasn’t made the DevForum a priority lately.

Sure, its a flip on switch but moderation system for reporting inappropriate banners will have to be put in place which will be tok much effort for a small cosmetic change.
I’m going to step away from this thread because its clear that people in this thread hate hearing opinions that counteract their own.
They can modify it to make it images only from roblox.
My point still stands. Extra effort will be put into place for something that doesn’t really benefit the DevForum as a whole besides making profiles look better.
I’m not saying your opinion is wrong, but as @Abcreator said, the DevForum is a forum, not a social media platform.

We should just get a flag button, and have the ability to upload directly. I cant stand uploading images to Roblox, and I likely wouldn’t use it, that would also take much longer to add

It wouldn’t be that much on moderation, we already have mostly free talking and free uploads, that’s where a flag button would come in
Not that I would, but I could upload a photo of something really bad, and then people would flag it. That’s how this would work, we dont need Roblox limitations.
Yeah I once made a Forum Features post on it and it turned out that the feature was suggested on Discourse Meta, and was declined by one of the co-founders because it would be too complicated to implement and because there are easy workarounds to the issue.

I don’t know about you, but “it would be cool” alone isn’t very convincing to enable a feature that would require extra moderation, as the ability to flag profile is not present. The benefits seem to be outweighed by the efforts necessary to make it safe. The cool thing about inappropriate images in posts is that only a few people will have to face the burden of seeing them. Once enough people flag the inappropriate post, it will be hidden, which means you implicitly consent to be exposed to potentially inappropriate content by viewing the hidden content. It won’t work for profiles.
Wanna know whats much more cooler? The thing where you can only use images uploaded from roblox. And theres something even better, you can click the banner which links you to the roblox image link, And you can report it if it was bypassed.
That takes time, and additionally, the Roblox library isn’t as visible as devfoum profiles. Do you have any other use cases apart from “it would be cool” to justify adding this feature, as only allowing importing an image from Roblox would require a separate system to be developed, but for what benefit.
What prevents you from using roblox uploading image system?
