Belmond Resort & Spa - Staff Handbook

Belmond
Belmond Resort & Spa - Staff Handbook
Welcome to Belmond Resort & Spa’s staff handbook! Below are rules, guidelines, and helpful information for all staff members. If you have any questions about any of the information below, do not hesitate to contact a corporate-level staff member in direct messages. You may view our list of corporate staff members that are available to help you on our communications server.

These rules apply to the behavior of all ranks trainee and above in our Discord Server, all Belmond Games, our group, and our website.
Click on an arrow to look at the rules for it. For example, if you needed to see grammar rules, you would click the arrow next to “Grammar” and you could see them!

Grammar

We require all members of the rank “trainee” and above to use complete grammar, punctuation, and capitalization in all Belmond-Resort games (Not Disord). If a staff member is not abiding by this rule, they should be given a “strike” for each grammar mistake. If they get over three “strikes” in one day, demote the staff member to resort guest, or if you are not allowed to, report them to someone who can.

Drama

Belmond Resort & Spa has a strict policy against any “drama”.
Drama is defined as the: “unneeded bringing of attention to oneself at the noticeable expense of the community surrounding them.”

If you are caught starting drama within a Belmond-Owned platform or in DMs with another member who doesn’t welcome it in their DMs, you will be fired. If you are caught participating in drama, you will be demoted a single rank down.
STAFF WITH RANKING PERMISSIONS:
If you see a staff member starting/participating in drama at Belmond, demote or fire them. If you do not have permissions to, report them to someone who does.

Professionalism

Professionalism

We require complete professional behavior at Belmond. This means you may not:

  • Wear inappropriate or “troll” outfits
  • Have conversations not related to work in a ROBLOX game
  • Joke around on an immature level or excessively
  • Ask for or hint at a promotion
  • Show a form of disrespect, or act immaturely towards others
  • Stop working for no reason or purposefully ignore your work task

Violating the rules above will result in you being warned and then fired if you continue.

If you see someone violating these rules, warn and then fire them if they continue, or report them to someone who can.

If you see someone violating any of the rules from our terms of service fire them immediately, or find someone who can.

Activity

Activity refers to the amount of time you participate in Belmond-owned games as a staff member. We ask staff members to be this active:

  • Ranks duty manager and subsidiary manager should work at the resort for at least two hours each week, and attend at least a single training session each week.
  • Ranks general manager through executive assistant should host at least a single training each week, and work at the resort for two and a half hours each week.
  • The rank of executive manager should work at the resort for at least three hours a week, and host at least a single session each week.
  • The rank of human resources should accept/deny applications every day possible, and demote inactive staff in the ranks below them. They should log their demotions. They should work at the resort for at least an hour each week.
  • The rank CFO should work daily on projects
  • The rank COO and CEO should work at the resort at least four hours a week, and attend at least two sessions a week.

We cannot perfectly enforce activity, but if you ignore these inactivity deadlines or are very inactive, you will be demoted by human resources, by the chairman, or by the board of directors.

If you are going inactive, please alert a human resources rank+. They should then log your inactivity notice.

Demotions & Promotions

Belmond Resort takes ranking very seriously. If you abuse your ranking powers, you will be fired. Below are the ranks that may do promotions and demotions:

  • General Manager may demote Concierge and below for ignoring the staff handbook.
  • Operations Assistant and Executive Assistant may demote Duty Manager and below for ignoring the staff handbook
  • Executive Manager may demote General Manager and below for ignoring the staff handbook.

  • Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer may demote ranks Human Resources Officer and below for ignoring the staff handbook.
  • Board of Directors may demote or promote any rank under them with a 67% or more vote from the whole board. A single director may demote General Manager and below for ignoring the staff handbook.
  • All ranks above board of directors have any ranking permissions.

You may only rank according to the permissions above. If you see someone ignore these rules, fire them, or get someone who can fire them to do so.

You may only demote or fire people based on what it says to do in the staff handbook. Read the “Other Rules” section of this guide to find out more about cooldowns, if you are promoting someone, you are required to read this section.

Everyone must log all rank changes on our communications server using the template posted. If you see someone didn’t log their promotion or demotion, warn them and then demote them if they do it again, or ask someone with the permissions to do so.

Terms of Service

If a staff member is found not following the terms of service, they should be fired immediately. We have a higher standard for our staff members, and expect them to follow all Belmond rules.

Admin Commands

Administrative and moderation commands in-game are used to improve and moderate the resort, conduct training programs, and much more. Restrictions on these powers are imminent, and these powers may only be used for good reason. Here are the guidelines below:

  • Use of “all” or “others” in any administrative commands term is not allowed in any case, and will result in you being fired, permanently banned, and blacklisted from all Belmond games.
  • Bringing people without reason will result in you being fired
  • Kicking or banning people without reason will result in you being fired, permanently banned, and blacklisted from all Belmond games.
  • Naming people without reason will result in a warning followed by a demotion if continued.
  • Flying is not permitted except by the chairman and vice chairmen. If a staff member is found doing this, they will be fired.
  • Using M, SM, or H without being the host of a training program will result in a demotion.

Abuse of administrative commands is NOT tolerated at any point. You only use them for the reasons given above. Abusing administrative commands is never allowed.

No commands should be used for admin other than:

  • Kick
  • Ban / unban
  • Countdown (Not at the resort)
  • M, SM, H (Not at the resort)

Use of commands other than the ones above for adequate reason will result in you being fired.

If you use commands other than the ones in the list above, you will be fired. If you see someone abuse, demote or fire them, and if you don’t have permissions to do so based on our demotion guidelines, contact someone who can with proof.

The only times you should be using administrative commands are when you need to speak to/deal with a lower ranked staff member by using “to,” for the reasons in the terms of service response document and for training programs.

Belmond Resort Training Program

The Belmond Resort training program is a vital part of becoming a staff member. Though we have a guide posted that explains all of the procedures to successfully host, train, or co-host a training program, there are a few general rules that do not depend simply on instruction. Below are these rules;

  • You must stay professional at all times during trainings, and respect the trainees.
  • You may not make “add-ons,” or do less than the guide asks you to do. Follow the guide step by step and do not go off course.
  • You may not give anybody special permissions or have bias towards them, doing so will result in you being fired.
Reports

Ranks general manager and above are expected to deal with reports in the reports channel. To deal with these reports, they must view them, and help according to the situation. Once the report has been dealt with, the staff member who has dealt with the report should DM or ping the person who sent the report, and notify them that their report has been dealt with. Not following these rules will result in the corporate staff member being fired, and replaced by an executive level rank, or a corporate rank below them. Corporate ranks may NOT do jobs other than the ones assigned to them.

Human Resources Officer -
Human resources is a special department. Every human resources officer should look at every staff member in the ranks duty manager through executive manager, and do the following ONCE EVERY WEEK:

  • Demote/ fire staff who do not meet the activity standards.

Along with this, Human Resources Officers should be reading applications FOR TRAINEE and passing or failing them. To decide if an application is worthy of passing, make sure it doesn’t have 3 grammar mistakes, and think about whether or not you want this applicant working at Belmond. The Chief Financial Officer should actively work to make alliances with other groups, get investors and players to join the group. They should make up fun events, and in general get more money, members, better development, and a better visual look for the group. They may NOT host a session, they may only moderate the resort. Before they make any changes, the CFO must consult the owner, jvstaldjni. There may be a maximum of one CFO at a time. The chief operating officer may demote or fire staff members executive manager or below who do not follow the rules provided in this staff guide and others. They may discipline staff on their jobs, and post memos explaining to staff how to do their jobs - they may not make new rules.

The job of the COO is to moderate the resort as well. They must deal with different terms of service violations using the guide. Other Rules

This section is for rules added after the creation of this guide, you must follow these rules as well.

Added September 12, 2019:
Plans to demote or promote someone should be kept PRIVATE until the rank change actually occurs, not beforehand. If this is ignored, the person who ignores this should be demoted one rank down. This does not apply if this is in regards to an interview or if the person being promoted or demoted is being asked question(s) about whether they can or cannot fulfill said position.

Added September 12, 2019:
Not only do staff members need to follow all the rules said in this guide for promotions, but they must also make sure the person being promoted has been their rank for at least 3 weeks. If not, they may not promote this person until they have been their rank for three weeks.

Added October 7, 2019:
All staff members must use one of the uniforms provided for them while they are at the resort. Not doing so will result in said staff member being demoted TWO ranks down.

Added November 9, 2019:
Staff members cannot post offensive, rude, or insensitive material. If they do so (only extremely insensitive), they should be demoted one rank down. If they do so more than once, they should be fired.

Added November 9, 2019:
Staff members, when scolding another staff member for doing something wrong or confronting someone else about an issue related to Belmond, must follow the same rules as if they were chatting in a ROBLOX game; they must use grammar, be respectful, not create drama, and be kind. They cannot confront people within a public chat (such as #communal-channel), only in DMs, in the report system, or in a meeting area within a ROBLOX Belmond game. They must follow this rule in DMs as well.

Added November 9, 2019:
The staff guide is not only relevant to chats within Belmond between staff, but also chats ABOUT Belmond between staff. That means that the rules in the staff guide are still relevant if a staff member starts talking about Belmond to someone else in another server or group, and if they are caught doing something wrong, can be punished equally. It does not matter where they discuss things, but if they are discussing Belmond ANYWHERE, they must follow the staff guide.

Added November 9, 2019:
Our alliances must follow the rules presented in the alliance guide: Belmond Resort & Spa - Alliance Handbook
Staff members at Belmond are required to report alliances if they are not following these rules. People who know that an alliance is breaking rules and do not report it to a corporate rank should be demoted a single rank down.

Added November 11, 2019:
All promotions to corporate ranks, or promotions from one corporate rank to another, must be confirmed by jvstaldjni, the chairman. If one ignores this rule, they should be fired.

Thank you for reading, enjoy your time as a staff member.
