guys we found another chipotle burrito server incident vulnerability, math.huge on the temperature value and it all gonna go down
actually Audio TTS is a planned feature, so
and theyre losing money too, devexing is an actual thing and one day it can lead to roblox’s debt
so can say we both are
and still no texture filtering on meshpart
I WILL BALKAN RAGE !
Useful for world-building if done right.
Would’ve preferred man hours to be put towards fixing core functionality that affects literally experience on the platform, but you made the end of quarter push, so there’s that.
EDIT: Just jaded that I don’t see enough movement tackling core issues and everytime I see a [Beta] in the announcements, that’s just another tech debt bucket being kicked down the road, fully aware that AI teams don’t touch CoreGui stuff.
I just realized a more interesting use of this API is using the generated text for a gameplay feature (ex: playing chess via algebraic notation). Likely won’t be that good but could open up some interesting game ideas.
in 2026 every roblox game will run 1 fps because the 999th unnecessary ai feature drops (not saying this ones bad, assistant and material are) instead of fixing stuff
This will be great!! No more having to pay for API tokens or crazy HTTPS crap just to have some simple chatbot functionality.
I’m thinking of other use cases too, like In-Game Newspapers or AI-Controlled NPC behavior.
I can see a setup for a monster of sorts, it being able to do things based on game data it is sent (it’s own position, player position, what things have been triggered, etc).
I’m excited to see the benchmarks for this too.
What open-sourced model is being used?
This is an amazing upgrade that will have a huge impact on roleplay, action, horror, and many other games. Hopefully, it won’t cause performance issues for some players…
will there be any way to generate images using the text generation api?
just asking because chatgpt ripoffs are missing the crucial features to start a good group chat laugh
You shouldn’t have to trick it at all, you could just tell it the capabilities, like “to walk towards the player, put <WalkToPlayer> at the end of your message.”
looking through source code of the game you CAN ask it to obey your “weird strict” orders, look at the mage’s code in the screengui
Does it call it “weird strict” orders??
It’s called prompting.
I wonder if we have access to System Prompts with this…
(I have not looked at the source code nor documentation yet lol)
Ah, ok, that’s nice that it’s based on llama3.2. I’ve ran that locally quite a bit.
That means it’s definitely got some good chatbot capabilities.
I wonder if we will have access to different versions like llama3.1 in the future. (llama3.1 is a heavier model than llama3.2, it’s smarter.)
This is really cool and I love how easily controllable it is. Can’t wait to see how games use it!
That’s definitely going to go well. I tried to get Microsoft Copilot to make me some ASCII art that said “JUST MONIKA”.
It tried, it DID spell something, but I can tell you it was NOT what I asked for.
