Bigfoot Realistic Horror Game Devlog 1

Hello guys, This is the first Devlog for my realistic Bigfoot game. Before I start I should tell you more about myself. I am scripter, I can build a little bit, but I can’t model to save my life.

Ok lets get into the Devlog. This first devlog will cover the first month and a half of development.
It will not show some of the things, but it will show most of the things in the game right now.

Part 1. "The beginning."

So I came up with the idea from a game on Roblox, surprisingly enough lol. The game was super fun, but it’s been down for over 3 and a half months! Me being me, noticed this and decided to make my own version of this game, since me and my friends couldn’t play the original anymore. So that day I started working on it.

This concludes, “The Beginning.”

Part 2. "The Base."

Starting on the first day with a new found passion, I quickly cooked up some basic systems for the game “The Inventory System.” I started on the inventory system first because I thought it would be fun. Yeah, that’s the only reason. The first week went by like a breeze, with me adding countless new systems. (mantling, hurdling, sprinting, looting, and arguably the most important part, The Base Of The Map.)

This Concludes “The Base.”

Part 3. "The Omnipresent Development Phase."

Yep, If you are a developer, no matter the experience. You have undoubtedly ran into this phase before. “Burn Out.” If you don’t know what im talking about, I don’t think you are much of a developer. Every developer has been at this point in development at some time, but this phase happened to come on the third week. Quick note newer developers: Many experienced developers will tell you that you can’t depend on passion, and motivation alone. There is one thing you as a developer has to have, and that is “Discipline.” Yea, we all hate hearing that word, but it is true. To stay working on a game you have to have self discipline. That was a complete rabbit hole, but I thought it may help newer developers.

This Concludes “The Omnipresent Development Phase.”

Part 4. The Present.

This brings us to the present stage of development that I am in, but before we dive into the rest, I wanna clear up a few things. I say I have been working on this game for a month and a half its really only been a little over a month. I took a break in between game development as to not burn out completely. Another tip for newer developers: It’s fine to take breaks in development, It’s actually encouraged by most. Reason being if you are not motivated to keep working, but you keep working anyway. You will get completely burnt out of the game. Making it even harder to work on the game in the future. So It’s fine to take breaks when working on a game, but don’t start working on another until you have finished that game. Wow, another rabbit hole lol. I promise it won’t happen again, but back to what I was saying. You are now fully up to date on everything I have done to the game so far. If you would like to see all that I have added and am working on currently, then I will have a dropdown list of all the systems.

This Concludes “The Present.”

Finally, here is the last part of this devlog.

Part 5. "The Future of the game."

I don’t know when the game will release, I don’t even know when the next devlog will be, but one thing I do know. I love working on this game, It’s always been a dream of mine to make games for people to like and play. After 2 years of trying I think I have found a game idea that I am happy to share! I want this game to circle around teamwork. I want it to be a funny horror, not a serious one. I just want a game where friends can team up with each other and win. There are some systems that I want to add to add to the game, but I don’t think I should share them quite yet.

This Concludes “The Present.”

here is a video of the game so far.
Hope You Enjoy…

Video Of The Game So Far and The FPS System.

Video fo game so far. (The drawers are a little broken Rn lol!)

It looks jumpy, but that’s only because I had to turn down the fps to make it under 10mb.
It still has a few bugs, but I just haven’t fixed them yet, but don’t mind those lol.

That’s all of the videos of the game so far, but there is more to come in the next Devlog!

I thank you from the bottom of my heart if you read through all of this. I know it was alot, but I love working on this game, and I wanted to share it with you. It would mean so much to me if you gave me some feedback on the game so far. It’s not perfect lol, but a little work everyday will get the job done sooner or later. Hope to see you at the next Devlog. Again thank you so much for reading this it means alot to me, I’ve put alot of time and effort into this game.
