Blackout Theatre: Rank Guide

Within this post, we will explain all the different ranks that exist in our theatre and what their roles are.
Audience
An audience member is what you become when you first join the group! You’ll be able to come down to the theatre and watch the shows our creative teams host or maybe get a bite to eat at the cafe! We aim to try make our game fun for those who don’t have have a role within our game and often host game sessions when shows are being created.
Suspended
People in this role have been demoted for a certain amount of time due to them breaking the rules continuously. This role is automatically managed by our API Systems. Those who are banned will also be placed here.

These ranks are staff roles within our game, but they do not have the same commands as staff members. To become an assistant, you simply do a quiz. If you get a certain score within this quiz, you will be automatically ranked.
Janitor
Janitors have the crucial role of keeping our theatre clean and tidy! You’ll have the responsibility of going around the theatre making sure everything is spotless! This is an active role as dirt does appear around the game for you to clean.
Barista
Baristas have the important job of serving food and drinks to our guests and staff in the café to keep them refreshed while on the go!
Actor
Actors are absolutely vital to our shows! They are assigned characters by the host and get to perform as those characters on stage. Usually, the host will assign you a role, a stylist will make your character look the part, and then you’ll act as that person on stage.

These ranks are the main backbone of our game. Staff members are responsible for making everything happen. To become a staff member, you must fill out an application form. This will be reviewed by a high rank and you will be accepted if we feel like you are a competent and valuable person for our team!
Technical Crew
This role is key for controlling all of the technical elements of a show to make sure it looks magical! This would include operating the lights, effects and curtains.
Set Builder
Set builders are highly skilled creative staff that build detailed sets for our actors to perform in for a show! They may also build minigames or other structures for people to participate in.
Stylist
Stylists are responsible for making sure our actors look fabulous when they go on stage! They have their own designated stylist booths that they can decorate. Once they have their stylist booth setup, they then have the role of dressing up actors for the shows.
Security
Security have the important job of making sure everyone is abiding by our rules and trollers aren’t causing problems so that everyone can have a fun time! Security do have tools to try and stop people abusing things, such as handcuffs and tasers, but they are not to be confused with High Ranks. Security do not have the power to warn or issue punishments to people. See section 4 of our Rule Book for more information.
Host
Hosts are responsible for directing shows for our audience to watch - one of the most important roles within our game. Hosts need to hand out acting roles for actors, as well as creating elaborate stories to bring to life on stage. The host who is in charge of the show will also have commands to control when the curtains can be opened or closed.
Moderator
Moderators are the most senior staff members and is only available to those who have spent a large amount of time within our game. As well as carrying out the roles staff would undertake, these people can make sure that everyone is following the rules and having a fun time with the ability to hand out warnings.

These ranks are responsible for the day-to-day running of Blackout Theatre. They ensure rules are followed and remove those who chose not to listen. To become a high rank, you must fill out an extensive application and go through a training program.
Executive
These people are actively involved with the community and are the HR’s that you’ll most often see within Blackout. They have the ability to read applications and enforce the rules at the theatre by issuing bans and warnings.
Administrator
An administrator is a more senior executive who has more privileges. They have the ability to revoke bans and participate in regular meetings with the developers of the game to discuss what the community would like to see added to Blackout.
Administrative Director
This role is responsible for all high ranks within Blackout Theatre. The administrative director can hire and demote both administrators and executives. They are also responsible for the game’s settings and can enable things like free ranking on the kiosks.
Co-Founder
These people are responsible for managing the entirety of Blackout Theatre and oversee everything that happens. They have full authority over every rank and have control of everything that happens within the game and group.
Founder
This role belongs to the creator of Blackout Theatre. This rank has full authority over everything.
