Bodysuits Now Have a Price Floor

100 robux is approx 1 dollar if you think 1 dollar is expensive for a full bodysuit I don’t think you’ve seen prices outside of Roblox. Games such as fortnite or any game with cosmetics will value them at 10 - 25 dollars sometimes more.

For perspective you can buy 500 robux for less than a big mac, you can get 5 bodysuits.

This is the problem with robux people see 100 and think it’s a lot but they’re measuring amount and not value. Expense is based on the value not the amount.

If I say something is 5,000 Yen you’d probably think that’s super expensive cause it’s 5,000.
But that equates to 34.82 USD.

And if there is no price floor people can price it even lower, then your argument would apply there. If there’s no price floor and someone just starts pricing their stuff as 1 robux or even free. Then as you said why buy from anywhere else?

The publishing fees already make trying to do this infeasible for anyone seeking to profit off of UGC. And it’s more than likely such low priced products are low quality or stolen to begin with leading to why you would buy from anywhere else.

Real life has no price floor and yet things are priced reasonably.
There was no price floor before and nobody was complaining. Everything was competitively priced without being bad for profit.

Additionally, like Reap said, the publishing fees mean everyone (even slop + scam creators) needs to price accordingly at a minimum assuming they’re trying to profit.

This has simply cut off all purpose of pricing realistically. If you want to compete in a price floor world, it’s effectively mandatory to charge accordingly or get left behind.

(I remember when I tried pricing clothing higher than 5 robux in the past, sales on those items were single digits. Both stolen copies + similarly styled clothing were charging 5 and visibly getting mountains more sales than I did.)

Thanks for not allowing free content on the marketplace…

every time roblox adds a price floor i become less interested in returning and actually playing more again

UGC packages and heads used to be free
you used to be able to get the Shaggy 2.0 for 2 robux
face accessories were 15 robux

this just drives normal players away and abuses children not knowing that money isnt infinite and things are free so they spend thousands in in app purchases

honestly if they wanna give UGC a chance again, they need to both delete price floors and close down public UGC, or at least heavily regulate it to where you get advantages from being in the UGC program

price floor has been a net positive to creators. before the price floor, anyone pricing above the minimum (2R$) was penalized. 2R$ was not a fair price for the creator or Roblox.

I’m not a huge fan of price floors but I assume it likely has a function.
I’m not sure how to feel about it to be honest.

this is a lie

the real penalty is uploading public UGC costing so much fake roblox money as well as real money to get premium to where it might not even make sense to do so

Please revert these anti-consumer practices that have to do with fluctuating prices. They’re horrible.

No more controlling the prices of UGC. Let the publishers control that. Price floors have been controversial already.

Also that automatic bodysuit detection is worrying. Roblox’s moderation bots mess up a lot. This is going to inevitably screw over creators because the bot messed up and there’s no way to appeal it.

More price floors? Seriously???

No-one likes price floors. Forcing accessories to cost an arm and a leg hurts players’ wallets and creators’ sales since many people are either unwilling or unable to pay. No-one wins except Roblox’s pocket.

Layered clothing restrictions are absurd and I cant even upload them anymore, but atleast this bodysuit category seems nice

Five of my items have been falsely affected by this and are causing me to lose sales. These items from my group have all been incorrectly converted to bodysuits, despite the fact that these coats are just like the white coat in the example (which, apparently, should not be classified as such):

I hope Roblox provides a fix for this soon, as my pending has dropped by around 5k robux in the last few days, and I believe this update is partly responsible for that. I know 5k might not sound like a lot to some bigger creators, but for smaller groups like mine, it affects us more. (Or, better still, just get rid of the crappy price floors altogether and revert all the updates that are harming smaller creators.)

This has also happened to me too, these long dresses of mine have also been flagged, causing me to lose sales.

Again, there are other longer dresses on the catalog which haven’t been flagged as such - how are we supposed to compete with those? For an update that’s supposedly “leveling the playing field so everyone’s pricing reflects what they’re selling”, it’s sure putting a lot at a disadvantage!

Also this too - Again, not exactly a level playing field for everyone now is it? Why do my coats fall foul, yet these - which are clearly bodysuits - are cheaper?

My pending is in freefall right now. The below dressses are now higher than similar items.

In addition to this, I make a lot of fashion items with matching tops and bottoms so a user has a streamlined and easily accessed matching set, along with motorsport jumpsuits and onesies. I understand that the vision for roblox is to charge more for these, but as a layered clothing creator a lot of my best selling items have been effected.

I realize that roblox is working to strengthen the marketplace, but just wanted to express my experience.

Please stop being your greedy, out-of-touch selves for five minutes. Please?

I can’t think of a single person who actually supports this.

I think this is… ridiculous to say the least! Nobody wanted a price floor, and I agree with a point someone else made here, how adding this would only make it more annoying for people to buy things like this, and furthermore it only encourages people to bypass more! What happened to powering imagination when that imagination is locked behind paywall!? I’m fortunate enough to have the robux to afford these price floors (even if I dont buy items like this) But many others are not as fortunate to have the robux to.

You know I didn’t realize that UGC creators can make layered clothing now. I guess I’m living under a rock.
