Bugs and feedback on new find widget

Feedback: Nice to be able to switch between Ctrl+F/Ctrl+H with the click of a button (carrot left of find box) instead of closing one and opening the other

Feedback: Very nice to have separate search boxes across multiple scripts, and that they persist if you switch tabs and them come back

Feedback: Great to see that previous bugs with the finder were fixed before being re-released

Feedback: When you press enter, it skips to the next occurrence. It was possible to do this in the old widget in reverse. It’s possible in the new widget, but the behavior is very obscure. You have to click “find previous occurrence”, and then press enter without clicking anywhere else (clicking sets mode back to next). It’d be great if this behavior was more clear / easier to use.

Bug: Find previous via enter goes upwards, but it goes across lines backwards. When going down, it starts from left to right, which is correct, but when going up, it also starts from left to right, when it should instead go right to left.

Bug: When typing, highlights flicker (I guess because finder is re-searching the whole document instead of just what changed)

Feedback: It’d be nice to have a setting for “Find Selection Color”. We have a setting for the background color, but not the text when highlighted. As you can see in the above gif, this makes it nearly impossible to read the highlighted text depending on your script editor colors

Feedback: Icons are painfully unintuitive
