Building the Future of Roblox Home and Search: Introducing Personalized Discovery

I kinda disgaree on this only because the homepage is already packed as it is and I think adding more could make it feel too cluttered and overwhelming, especially for the average user

“Our long-term goal is to have excellent automatic tuning and optimization of features that adapt to the unique capabilities of the end user’s device, so we have no plans to extend the graphics settings for the client. let users choose anything for themself.”

This update is obviously made to maximize profit. NOBODY should have the sponsored tab be the most relevant. Sadly, Roblox hates manual user input and likes to automate everything.

Thanks! Certainly going to give this a go. Can you please confirm the name of the creator so I install the correct one?

Not very good that @Roblox is yet again making users have to install more extensions just to make the site usable and not full of advertising rubbish. Absolutely nothing about this is personalised… its just adverts, continue and favourites should be at the top. Maybe if Roblox didn’t remove banner ads they wouldn’t need to compensate by shoving several rows of advertising above our continue and favourites.

Here is the developer and here is the official Twitter/X page for the extension.

Just don’t make me scroll to the bottom for my recently played games

Same for favorite games. I don’t like that my favorites are at the literal bottom.

The end user loses here. I’d rather not get advertisements for things I’m never going to buy. If I’m looking for accessories, then I’ll go to the marketplace, simple as that.

Can we please get updates to this algorithm though; it constantly reccomends experiences that I’ve already played and down voted months ago instead of reccomending new and exciting experiences which means, and I’m sure that’s happening to many other users which means it’s harder for developers to reach new audiences.

Why not allow users to choose how to customize their own home page?

I think Roblox could take inspiration from Steam for a lot of these things. The home page should be how the user wants it to be. The experience/charts page should show interesting things going on, whether it be popular experiences, events, sales, new games that are popular, etc. I’d also really love a more advanced search filter like Steam’s so I can actually narrow things down and find something relevant. Roblox’s current search is still heavily lacking.

To be honest, roblox might have many less design issues if they just copied steam in terms of customizability (and partially in terms of functionality)

Which is pretty much just saying what has already been said

How will the games that the recently visited section show be chosen? Is it just going to be an extended version of the continue tab?

Glad you’re finding the update helpful @Vikko151 !

Thanks for your feedback @Crazedbrick1! We hear you loud and clear. Prioritizing “Recently Played” and “Favorites” is a common request, and we’re discussing how to best implement this.

Thanks for the suggestion Bubu ! A “New Experiences” tab with those criteria is a really interesting idea for supporting smaller developers. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts on how to prevent spam and low-quality content.

Honestly, If Friends stays at the top, and you move the continue bar up, so its second under friends. Thats all I want to see.

I appreciate the improvements introduced in this update, as it’s a step towards actual good recommendations. However, can we please have a feature that allows users to remove specific experiences from their homepage?

What discussion is there to be had about how to “best implement this” like it’s some sort of rocket science?
All they need to do is simply put recents and favourites back above everything, at the top of the homepage.

Alongside that, I still feel like there’s a better way to display recommended games than cramming them in wierdly and making it take like 10 scrolls to get to the bottom

Thanks for your question! The “Recently Visited” section lists your most recently visited experiences in chronological order, displaying up to 50 games in total.

Thanks for the feedback and the suggestion! We appreciate it. We’re considering this for a future roadmap.
