I’m making a game room just for show. Could I put things like a minecraft or some poster on the wall? It won’t be against ToS will it? Or would that be against copyright law?
I believe this would be against the ToS only because roblox is trying to take down a lot of branded things.
Aw man! What can I put up there for alternatives?
Well I said I believe so not that it true. But maybe you could try making your own GFXs based off those games just try to “hide” obvious copyright.
I don’t know what the context of this room is. Maybe consider Roblox alternatives to GTA V.
Like Roblox Vehicle Simulator.
that wouldn’t be copyright as well? taking pictures from another game and using them in a showcase or something without permission?
im confused
Maybe I’ll add them to photo but blur them?
I could use old fashioned games, would that work? Like pac man?
See, that’s a touchy topic. I don’t know the copyright behind vehicle sim’s icons. I cannot elaborate on this because I don’t know the context of this gaming room.
Aw…
Well, maybe I need to learn more about copyright…
This is just a showcase to show the room off and to not have any players within or turned into a game. Just built and displayed to cool creations or so. Would it still be acceptable?
That should be acceptable, as long as your not taking credit for those assets.
Alrighty. When I show the photos, I’ll list the games used in posters
Thanks!
You could also make a parody poster like gte (greatest thieves ever) My example sounds pretty lame but you could do something pretty good with this idea since I think legally, parody is allowed just not straight copying.
I would try avoiding using real life games and their actual game logos you could always ask for permission before attending to use real life games in your content you could always create or design your own poster featuring a made up game or games on the platform with actual permission from there proper owners. I would try getting in contact with the creator to check if your allowed to use there game logo.
Most owners will grant you permission to use there game inside your creation, if it’s just a personal project it’s always best to come up with your own poster as it will be a safer approach, i do believe (Rockstar Games- Take-Two Interactive) are copyrighted:
If an image contains copyrighted material, it will be taken down eventually.
(I’m not talking about the 9 year old pony characters on the toolbox)
theres alot of free to use posters online, just need to look, lots of “great taker of automobiles the fifth” and “build n break” type stuff, not only does it add a bit of comedy but its also easier then making game stuff from scratch
maybe just go in blender and remake the gta 5 thing and rename it to grand theft blox
That’s a great idea! So basically I can look up game spoofs or parodies?
yeah, students In design classes usally make them as practice then put them out as free to use, you can either find them on sites made to compile free to use things or go on social media (like IG or twitter) and ask
If you really want to use a gta poster, make a roblox version and save it as a decal because that would be fine. GTA posters are a bit inappropriate for roblox anyways.
thanks! Can you link them to me or give me examples to look up? Or what do I look up to see a huge, widespread variety of parodies?
Of course! But GTA was just an example… I’ll change it.
