Hello, developers. As many of you know, you can change the color of the terrain.
I’m currently working on a game with lakes and swamps. I want the swamp’s water to be green, but that would also affect the lake’s water.
Is there a possible way to only make one part of that specific terrain that color? Or can you only have one color for that type of terrain?

Unfortunately, no. I really wish we had the ability too, especially with water and grass, as those are two key components of terrain.
There’s a great feature request for it here:
As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to have areas of smooth terrain with the same material while showing different colors.
Let’s say I have a world in which one area of grass is drier than the other.
I want one section of grass to be yellow:

And one to be green:

Or, let’s say I want one part of the world to have red water:

And the other part to be blue:

But with today’s terrain capabilities that isn’t possible.
This applies to essentially al…
It sucks, I know. (╥_╥)

Biomes would be so cool if they were added.
Where you at Roblox? We need more variation in terrain!

Maybe things like muddy water for polluted areas and dying grass for spooky places. That would make it more diverse
There is no way to do this. You can only have 1 texture for each terrain part where you want it. If you wanted 2 variants in one terrain spot, that would make it unnatural and out of place. Terrain was a good feature that ROBLOX added. Basically, the main answer to your question is no.

Yeah. It’s honestly kind of sad that it doesn’t exist. It really should.
