Certain windows causes framerate issues

The following studio windows cause framerate issues when opened:

  • Every plugin that has a window (to my knowledge)
  • Toolbox
  • Terrain Editor
  • Align Tool
  • Material Manager
  • Material Generator
  • Animation Editor
  • Avatar Setup
  • Create Accessory
  • Accessory Fitting Tool
  • Breakpoints
  • Watch
  • Game Settings

No windows open (around 60fps):

Most of mentioned windows (around 12fps):

Do you have GSync enabled? If so try without that and let us know what happens.

Also, if this doesn’t work, can you provide a microprofiler dump?

I turned off G-Sync, and nothing appears to change
Sent a microprofiler dump to the bug-files group :^)

This has been happening for such a long time by now

I don’t have GSync enabled, i personally found that undocking stuff (like animation editor) actually fixes most of the time the framerate issues!

edit: oh nevermind it doesn’t appear to happen anymore to me?

Hey, I’ve just started noticing this issue while working on a map with smooth terrain today.

I normally have almost every beta feature enabled, including the updated Terrain Editor. Using it makes my frame rate drop down especially when having one of the Edit tools selected (it’s a little worse when using them). A quick fix I did was to just disable the Terrain Editor beta feature which eliminates the lag issue.

Here’s my laptop’s system information:

  • Windows 11
  • CPU: Intel(R) Core™ i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz
  • Memory: 16.0 GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti

Below is an attached video showing the FPS drops & a microprofiler dump:

Hi, forgot to follow up but this is a result of a rendering optimization that kicks in when zero Luau UIs are open. Once one is, you’re noticing a framerate drop because we have to go through a slower rendering path. As far as I know, we don’t have the resources right now to investigate this deeply at this moment.

Hi, is there any possible update to this? It’s incredibly frustrating to work with 30 FPS while only having explorer, properties, output and toolbox open.

Can somebody help me I have no idea what to do…

I was using Roblox Studio Mod Manager to switch back to the old explorer which helped out with my framerate, but it seems they removed it entirely.

I personally do not appear to have any problems about this on an i5-8365U (no gpu since this is a laptop, so UHD 620)
