The new Chappell Roan Corset has provocative stars in the design. Even if this was acceptable under the context of being part of Chappell’s outfit, players can mix-and-match this with other avatar items to emphasize the suggestive aspects. This can be worn in any game across Roblox, including ones with a Maturity rating of Minimal.
As a UGC creator, if I’m unsure on whether one of my designs would be allowed I’ll check Roblox’s official items to see if they released anything similar in the past. For example, a hat like Ace of Spades tells me that I’m allowed to use playing cards in my items. However, the fact that most reasonable players would see this corset as a violation of Roblox’s Community Standards makes it hard to trust official catalog items as clarification for what’s allowed.
Overall, I’m pretty concerned at how this item was approved in the first place. Was Chappell’s music label, Island Records, allowed to bend the rules as part of their agreement with Roblox? If an independent UGC creator uploaded a design like this, I’d expect moderation to deny it. Here, not only is it uploaded under Roblox’s account, but marketed on their Twitter too! Hoping this can be addressed soon, and that the corset can be updated with a design that is appropriate for an all-ages platform like Roblox.
I 100% agreeeven though this isn’t a “bug” perse, I don’t understand how something like this is even allowed, especially from Roblox themselves, they make the rules and they somehow broke them spectacularly.
This item obviously violates guidelines on what Roblox considers suggestive and having this up sets a negative precedent for what will be allowed on the platform. I don’t think this is a “feature request” as nothing should be requested, this should be changed promptly.
Roblox didn’t create the outfit which the model is based on. This is less about what Roblox intended and more about how something like this shouldn’t make it through internal checks. I shouldn’t have to explain that this outfit has pretty clear “stripper motifs” which is not appropriate for all-ages. Official assets uploaded by Roblox have to keep this standard, especially how these standards are enforced on all other public assets.
Do you actually think this or are you just baiting/trolling? “Pink pony club” is the name of chain of strip clubs. The song is a reference to a gay bar called “The Abbey” which hosts strip events: The reference itself should not be allowed on Roblox. The stripper motifs in the outfit are pretty obvious, and just because Chappel Roan is a musician doesn’t mean she can’t make references to adult subject areas. With that said, it’s important for Roblox and official assets uploaded by Roblox to NOT do this. Regardless of Roblox’s intentions any references to adult content should be removed.
I parent account 2 younger siblings in my household and it’s very obvious that stuff like this should either be readjusted or hidden to accounts <17 years in age.
At that point it’s a little obscure to add random 17+ only avatar viewable meshes or models. Best option for Roblox is to tinker with the avatar to make it less suggestive or to take it down all together.
Honestly, I love the niche options for stuff on Roblox, but they have historically removed stuff like this because it just doesn’t get used enough. Examples of this are: Premium/memership exclusive items, discounts, and places, >13 items, vertex colors for items, rental items, even things they made a huge deal about like Luobu.
I don’t think something like 17+ items will ever get implemented because they would have add extra checks to ensure that they aren’t present in any <17 experiences.
