Clarification on code flagged for safety review

my 3 month warning is a way around this. I may sound like I have no idea what I’m saying, but I will carry out that law suit once I gather enough proof which I can 99% guarantee will come, lots of people get falsely banned as it is

I’m sorry, but believe me, it isn’t.

Honestly. I’m just going to encrypt my strings and dynamically decrypt them during runtime. If they’re only reading my source I’ll be fine.

Alternatively I can just move my calls that require secret API keys to a proxy which stores my actual key. Then I never have to face the issue of anyone knowing what is going on.

I mean if he does actually file a lawsuit, then we’ll see. But I highly doubt that.

Like I get that PUBLIC code such as in free models being moderated, thats ok, but in private models or private places etc.? There is no need and lots of GOOD Developers would be using things such as API Links , which ROBLOX Devs/Staff should not have access to.

It only makes it worse that they announce this AFTER they start applying this, its only EVEN WORSE When they do something like this during such global crisis where everyone is stuck at home

You where just saying it was all bots on emails. :woman_facepalming: That’s just not true its only a bot to let you know the status of your ticket. Are you saying I don’t have the veteran badge and I don’t trust roblox admins? Because I do. You really are over reacting to the issue at hand. While I agree the moderation has been needing major updates it was talked about in the last RDC.

What is the purpose of moderating someone’s code? The only person who will ever see it is the developer who owns it.
This all seems like a waste of time, effort and money just to ban a very small number of developers who put inappropriate text in their own code! In my opinion, the thing that should really be focused on is exploiters.

I get the ideas behind this, we need to keep the platform clean, but this seems like a huge waste of resources. A specially trained team to moderate what, something that only the developer of the game will see, and maybe a couple exploiters who couldn’t care less? Overall this just seems unnecessary.

as someone else stated, even if this is done and a bot suspects a bad script, we should have a warning to change the script (or appeal that it is a false suspicion) But still, moderating private code is just a big no no

I have a passion for Computer Game Design, and roblox is a good place to start out, but all the moderation and bugs that developers for Roblox can fix, but all these bad moderation changes are just destroying my already unstable depression and mental health

They just need to mind their own business; I don’t need to get warned/banned because some API of mine leads to something weird like, say for instance, a site with live streams of people eating cake 24/7 until they suffer a cardiac or something (bare with me on this), when it is nowhere near public. If you want to see my code so badly, come to me in person and look over my shoulders.

This is just a battle you would not win. It’s a public website and you agreed to the Roblox TOS when you created your account. How ever there are ways to go about this if you have enough proof it’s against the law. Lawsuit wont do anything except cost you thousands out of your pocket.

That’s not the point they’re getting at, but I’m not really gonna stop you.

The discussion of “getting around Roblox” is a totally disproportionate response to Roblox announcing changes to how they enforce an already established part of their Terms of Service.

Posting about how you “can’t trust moderation” so you’re “wiping old your old places” helps literally no-one - you’re abandoning good faith and drowning out discussion of valid concerns and possible solutions to those concerns.

Yeah. 100% agreed.
But people are smart, the crowd is dumb.

If you read the thread itself, it does say that it is subject to “the same basic rules as the Developer Forum regarding language and decorum.”

The developer forum (unless the rules have changed, I haven’t been active recently) allows swearing in private sections for emphasis - swearing at another user is obviously not allowed, however.

Your code should be fine

I’m going to be very CLEAR here. Please stop spamming this thread like @EpicMetatableMoment said. I’m also withdrawing some of my posts, so you may also want to reconsider this before you get consequences!

I won’t leave this site for the life of me, but I won’t stay without the rights of privacy for others and myself.
