Clarification on code flagged for safety review

You really didn’t have to delete your past places though, the system’s been around for so long already…you would’ve gotten a warning or a ban sooner if it was as dangerous as you think.

I think the system just overlooks places that are recently updated tbh.

Ok. I agree with you

I didn’t try to mean that, as i said alot of times, this is a necessary feature, but not managed very well. And mentioned before in what ways this should be reported, when they could and when not. But I support that privated code shouldn’t be reported.

As of now it could overlook yes, but eventually as its in place longer it’ll catch smaller things.

Glad that I could explain it to you :slightly_smiling_face:

Check out how places are published and how Roblox account data is passed to the website as it is uploaded to be stored. Then use that service to upload an empty .rbxl file for every game you own.

Yes, but then how would they trust you wouldn’t also be publicly putting out inappropriate information?

Not sure that’s up to them to make the wrong decision as they normally do.

Well, the system doesnt really scare me as i don’t believe they’ll punish literality every person that used a free model in the past.

That’s like…millions of bans just given out, which isnt the thing Roblox would do.

I’ll just keep my old places and see what happens, my account’s nearly as old as yours but i’ll take the risk anyway. It’s not worth being scared for hours over something that’s unlikely to happen.

I am not very happy that this has been going on for so long and we developers have not known about this we should have been informed when they started doing this and we are going to have sensitive information in our code like keys and other things and the scripts are private so why is ROBLOX wasting there resources on this when they could be doing something better, also just obfuscate you’re code if you’re worried about moderation people taking keys and stuff from your code.

I have had old games with FM, should I delete them just in-case? Also, if there is a virus script I didnt make will I be banned?

I’d recommend that 100%, as that’s what I and a few others have done. Never hurts to take extra precaution.

Also you can obfuscate your code here on a repl.it it is safe just go to the link here instructions are in main.lua it is hard to deobfuscate but not impossible just a nightmare to deobfuscate

How could robloxs automated system tell that is in a free model? Is it better safe than sorry?

I would have been developing my randomly generated obby game if it weren’t for this thread preoccupying me and hundreds of other developers. Why can’t we get a small clarification message? Would typing a sentence require that much work Roblox? It would put me at so much ease to know something is being done about the situation.

They could mark their “official response” as solution. Still waiting for it, I bet they will never release it and hope we are bluffing.

I would do the same, as if a statement is released with more information, and I feel if it is released the information will go against everything we’re hoping for.

At this point I just see developers obfuscating all of their code and getting banned for the “professionals” who are unable to de-obfuscate it.

This is basically personal invasion, like identity theft, like Roblox is stealing your SSN and looking at a game you made 4 years ago that profits to steal the profits.

Roblox can definitely respond here because they could link the response in the OP and people would stop panicking as much.

I find this a very degrading change for Roblox.

It literally takes a child to click on Develop → DevForum → a thread post. Because here people are allowed to swear. That’s not COPPA compliant. Yet private code is getting flagged for safety, which is ridiculous.

We need a statement from staff member. This thread is reaching 1000 replies without a statement and the fact that this is hidden under the Roblox account is even more upsetting and pretty much nullifies any chances we’ll get discussion going.
