Clockwork's Golden Shades Never Went Limited

The item Clockwork’s Golden Shades has stayed an offsale item unlike it’s counterpart Clockwork’s Golden Headphones which went limited exactly 6 months after they were made unobtainable. It’s been well over 6 months for the shades and there have been no signs of them going limited. I’m wondering if these were ever meant to go limited or if they were meant to be left as an off sale.

Shades that have stayed off sale.

Headphones that became Limited.

This is not a bug. They should not go limited.

It’s definitely odd how Clockwork’s Golden Headphones went limited exactly 6 months after being made unobtainable, yet Clockwork’s Golden Shades have stayed offsale with no update. At this point, it’s hard to tell if they were ever intended to go limited, or if they were purposely left offsale for good.

That being said, making the Shades limited would only boost the overall value and demand for both limiteds in the set. Collectors love complete sets, having both items tradable would increase interest and push the prices higher for both the Headphones and Shades. It would also make the set more desirable as a status symbol, similar to what we’ve seen with other matching limiteds on the platform.

I agree, I already own the shades but I feel like it would make sense for people who never got them and wanted a complete set. It also seems like it probably was what Roblox intended at the time.

Preferably I think they should stay offsale. If they do decide to make it limited I guess it would make sense. And a theory of mine on why the Gold Clockwork Headphones went limited while the shades haven’t was just for people to buy the headphones while obtaining the shades to complete the set if they had originally missed out on the headphones. Anyways that’s enough yapping for me.

Your theory makes sense, it was also strange that the shades were only on sale for about 11 days, maybe there is another unknown reason.

Why make one limited but not the other ?

It should’ve really been the opposite; Since Clockwork’s Golden Shades were false DMCA’d for a majority of the time it was uploaded, it was only available for a little over a week, making it less available to users attempting to collect the set.

As someone who bought this item when it was available, I did not buy it presuming that it would go limited. There was nothing advertising that this item would go limited.

(Before someone tries to say “BuT iT sAyS lImItEd”, Limited Time does not mean it’ll go limited, it means it’ll be available for a limited amount of time before becoming unobtainable)

It’s possible that Roblox wanted to make this item limited after 6 months, but decided not to after how poorly Gold Clockwork Headphones performed compared to it’s original price.

This post is more of a suggestion than a bug report. Me and many owners of this item I know don’t want it to become limited. You’re one of the only owners I’ve seen ask for this item to be limited. Whether it becomes limited or stays off-sale is Roblox’s decision.

I understand what you’re saying, however I do feel like this could be considered a bug due to it being an inconsistency with it’s headphone counterpart.

Gold Clockwork Headphones said the same thing, but then later went limited. So what does this mean to the average player? They can only assume that Clockwork’s Golden Shades would have done the same, to their own disappointment. If anything, this is a similar case to a previous limited issue; "Infinite Vault Star-glasses" were advertised as "Limited" but never went limited

The Crown of Robux Royalty, Staff of Robux Royalty and Sinister G. all featured this same wording - and none of them were made limited. There isn’t any reason to assume that this specific item, with the same wording, would have went limited.

If anything - you could say that the golden headphones going limited themselves was a bug: given the fact that all of these other items remained off-sale.

You’d be right if Clockwork Shades & Clockwork Headphones weren’t notorious for being released as a set. Even as recent as November, 2024, Both Workclock Shades & Workclock Headphones had been released together during the Classic sale as normal items.

The items were released several months apart and not together as a set (like the Workclocks)

This label has nothing to do with an item going limited. Roblox’s decision to make this item limited is completely unrelated to it. It is the buyer’s fault if they mistake this for an item going limited.

This one didn’t have the label “Limited Time”, it had the label “Limited”. The bug report you linked is unrelated.

It’d only be assumed by the wording, the behavior of the items and the accompanied traits that they would be going limited. It is as deceptive as any of these other cases, Such as during The Classic or The Hunt where they had used language which hinted towards items being limited, which some did, but others hadn’t when using the same words.

My point isn’t that they specifically used the wording “Limited”, it is that making the Gold Clockwork Headphones limited while using the “Limited Time” wording makes it seem as if items using the same phrase will also be going limited.

I’ll leave my reply for Roblox staff (as discourse for these types of things has been encouraged) that as an owner of the Clockwork’s Golden Shades, I would prefer to not have them go Limited. My assumption when purchasing this item, for $100, was that it would not go Limited.

I do agree that items like this shouldn’t be locked forever behind an arbitrary 11-day period of sale, but I do not believe this is a valid bug & I would rather Roblox find other ways of returning the item such as limited time sales (akin to that of Black Friday and previous sale events) in order to maintain the special and sentimental value this item holds.

Stop trying to argue for items to go limited just because you want to benefit from it. Roblox will make it limited if they want to there was nothing that was implied for the shades to go limited

I’m not Roblox but I assume they used “Limited Time” to make the item look more appealing and to easily communicate to the reader that the item isn’t available forever. Something like, “Available for a short period of time,” sound strange.
