How did you calculate this estimate?

I would be interested if it weren’t for the web server component; I don’t have any experience with that. I definitely do have the experience and time for everything else given the timeline, though, since I graduate on the 18th.

@Vurse Added on Discord. Your main post refers to a singular coder, but I was curious - would you mind perhaps hiring someone to do the backend/webserver and another person to do the Lua?

Edit: Wrong reply recipient, mobile sorry.

So is it 1mil or 80k? Your reply wasn’t clear.

Hey, I know a guy that I can refer he is extremely experienced and works quickly.

Both numbers are different things in the post, I think you might have skimmed it too quickly. Just re-read the post.

It is an interesting opportunity but I would not be able to dedicate that amount of time time to this project.

@Vurse No one has asked but for other people’s benefit can you include some info on who is working on the project and what you plan to outsource. My interpretation is that you are looking for a project partner rather than just a scripter due to the 50% split?

I have a few builders and a couple graphics people on board. I’m looking for someone to script everything, they’ll get 50% and I’ll be actively working on and discussing everything with them so they are a little bit like a partner.

I’ve had good experiences working for Vurse.
I’d recommend applying if you have the necessary skill set!

Is there a task list or agreed upon state for what “project completion” means?

Does the game have to be successful & make money for the scripter to get this payment?

Once the game is ready to release - a state which will be generally understood after details are laid out post-NDA, the scripter gets the project completion pay. The game does not have to perform well for me to pay them, as it is meant to be a kind of insurance for that exact circumstance.

I have been working with web servers and doing back end web stuff with PHP since I was 9. I would love to try and do this, but I’m currently picking up a 35.5 hr job at the airport near me.

Should be a little more specific to what you would need on both the web & lua side.
