Common typed faces like :D, :O, :P, :C change into unrelated emojis when you press enter on them, with the worst offender being :D, turning into a drooling emoji.
There should be a special condition made for these common faces to not turn into emojis when they’re typed because it can cause confusion about the meaning and intent behind the chat message.
Common examples:
:D, turning into
:P, turning into
:C, turning into
:O, turning into
This seems to be more like an unintentional side effect of the emoticon functionality, it just happens to be that the relative emoji starts with the letters (d for drooling, p for praying, c for clap, o for okay)
This could very easily be fixed by only showing the emote search if 2 or more letters are typed, as opposed to popping up on the first letter.
Hi, this shouldn’t be the case anymore (we recently rolled out a change where the autocomplete now needs to take in 2 characters (not one) after the colon to be triggered). Can you tell me what chat version you’re on by typing “/version” in the chat input bar?
