Continue is broken / misleading. Does not show in order

Ref: Is ROBLOX's "Continue" inaccurate / misleading?

I’ve noticed games that i have not played for months begin to appear further up my continue list despite not being played for months, they are being listed in front of games that i have at least played a week ago.

My question is what is going on? Is this some bias algorithm or a bug, Continue is suppose to reflect the games you have previously played in order.

The system seems flawed into taking in factors that the algorithm takes, boosting games up the list so you are more likely to replay them.

I have decided to mark this now as a bug as its constantly changing as it likes.
It’s not life changing, game breaking, it’s simply just annoying, stop throwing games higher up on the list, if i haven’t played them again for a while I do not want to play them again??

Not only this but everytime you refresh it shuffles it again, this also may make it confusing for the security checks you may get when login into a new device, “Select your last 3 games played recently” Yet its displaying old games not played for months…

Expected behavior

The continue page should reflect the games you have played in order rather than scattering them around, pushing frequently played games down and bringing the old ones back up.

Hoping this gets resolved, it’s fairly annoying.

Please allow yourself to go through the Ref at the top of the post, as all the images are there.

Here we go again 23:24, I haven’t played anything new yet.

My point is i’m not gonna stop reporting this till something is solved here.

Thinking about it, this is 100% related to the algorithm here…

Why would grow a garden be 2nd on list when I haven’t played it in a month :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Hi @EmberSquared, the Continue sort is partially chronological - games you’ve played recently show in chronological order, and games that you haven’t played recently can be reordered (behind recently played games). This is expected behaviour.

For an easily-accessible, fully-chronological listing, you can click on the Search bar on Website or app to open the Search Landing Page, which has the Recently Visited sort.

I’ve noticed the same thing too, I just wasn’t sure if it’s intentional or not

These shuffles have randomly been happening over time, but this particular one has shoved in games that I’ve barely played

(I only played be internet awesome once, and it definitely wasn’t that soon)

I guess that explains the shuffling, but I don’t think I’ve seen barely played and buried games get pushed back into the section until now, is that recent behavior that was introduced with the expansion of the continue section?

Yeah, we’re currently running an experiment where we show you a longer history of games in this sort so that might be related.

But why? Isn’t Continue suppose to be your recently played games, it just feels like you guys are pushing the popular games up even more to gain them even more traction.

I’ve not played Grow a Garden for so long now and its just idling on my Continue page, refer to “Pushing the popular games up”.

After 2 months this issue has still not been resolved. I honestly think I have had this issue for a year, searching for the game is so much harder with this issue.

Can I please just have the actual continue order again?
Perhaps a preferential toggle could be added for those who prefer to use a specific continue section behavior over the other, or at the very least there could be some way to purge games from the chronological order you’re not interested in, such as when the hatch made us play like 350 slop games that can just casually show up again since cashgrabs need to stay updated to cashgrab efficiently

Can’t believe this is such a problem for everyone, and they just do not care to revert changes.

“Yeah, we’re currently running an experiment where we show you a longer history of games in this sort so that might be related.”

This isn’t even a valid excuse, longer history ~= misleading history.
It just seems like its promoting games that are dying / making the most money

It is a really annoying algorithmic sort on the home page. which pushes lower-player-count/newer games out of it after just a day or two. It’s catering to big games making growth harder.

Clicking on the search bar in the vr app does not show my recently played experiences

Thanks for flagging, our team is testing to see if we can easily turn this feature on for VR.

Bumping this in March 2026, as I have noticed this change for over a year and assumed it was a bug. The fact that it still has yet to be reverted is insane to me, considering how inaccurate the “Continue” section is. By inference, you expect it to be, in chronological order, each game you played recently. The Roblox algorithm having any influence on the positioning of experiences in the “Continue” section is the wrong move from Roblox, even for trying to increase player retention and playtime. This section should stay as it was, especially since a “Recommended” section is already more prominent above your “Continue” section. While recommended serves a different purpose than to serve you games you have already played, it does so anyway. Games I played over ten years ago appear more frequently in my “Continue” section, and higher, than games I played within the week; those same games from ten years ago, also appear in the “Recommended” section, so we know there’s already overlap. Of course, I’m not complaining about one employee, one person, or one developer, I’m complaining because this “feature” made it through the relevant teams, has an ongoing bug report for almost a year, and has yet to be reverted to the expected behaviour, that we were already accustomed to, before the integration of Roblox’s algorithm in the “Continue” section.
